"One of the best bands to come out of San Francisco in the 1960s. The Flamin' Groovies were part of the whole flower power scene, but as a band, they couldn't have been farther from it. Instead of dressing like hippies and playing like the Grateful Dead, the Flamin' Groovies dressed like mods and played like a cross between Little Richard and the Yardbirds. Despite never gaining the fame and fortune they dreamed of, the Groovies are often cited as important precursors to the punk scene. This album is a collection of the complete Skydog singles from 1973-1981. The singles were originally issued on the French label, with some produced by Dave Edmunds in the legendary Monmouth Studio in Wales, and some recorded at Phil Spector's Gold Star Studios.
