His art could be described as a musical and lyrical mixture of people like Tilmann Rossmy, Magnetic Fields, Bernd Begemann, Sterne, Milch, Beat Happening, Blumfeld and Andreas Dorau. All of them managed to keep the special style of Friebe alive, this really touchy mixture of '80s-synthie-pop, classical songwriting, dramatic bohème-melancholia and dandyboy-storytelling, and still go for their own handwriting."
