"Level records' first release, Quartett EP, opened up with 'Millepieds' by Oliver Hacke. The sixth release on Level now sports five artists who use their individual techniques and remix approaches on Hacke's acclaimed track. On A1, Slg extracts an incredible funkyness from the original material that won't leave anybody unmoved. Although its sounds are all based on the original, Slg's approach is very different yet funky as hell and deep at the same time. People who already know his EP on Level might be reminded of his highly regarded 'Anymore'-track which features a similar kind of bassline. A2 by the Mexican artist Fax is a very surprising remix. It starts off with very grounded groovy loops with a quite solid feel, sustaining in a traditional micro-house manner until unexpectedly, beautifully modulated, dreamy chords emerge from the solid base groove. Surprises like this make many of Fax's tracks so special. Side b starts with labelhead Daniel Fritschi who creates a track which does only loosely refer to his previous releases. Daniel picks up the slightly dark mood of the original, develops it to a nicely grounded sequence and garnishes it with a grooving bassline plus dubs. Anders Ilars remix can be regarded as an appetizer for his forthcoming EP on Level. He builds up a dense and beautiful atmosphere which feels like wide spaces, populated by millions of gentle clicks, all kept together by the warm and dominant bassline of the 'Millepieds' original. The final track by Jeff Milligan is a more free interpretation of the original, focused on the dominant, beautiful warm chords, sparkling beats and hihats cutting sharp like scalpels."

"Trapez is happy to release the first album of Oliver Hacke. An album is full of new tracks and different styles. From the shuffle to the straight, from the funky to polar driven atmospheric tracks which he is also famous for. Releasing on Trapez and its sublabels as well as on the domestic label background, the Duesseldorf based Oliver Hacke has so far not delivered a clear picture of himself. Who is the man that gave us Polar 1, the walking bass epics on the 'Clip' EP, 'Der Vampir von Duesseldorf' or his fantastic remix on Akufen's 'Psychometry iii'. The album makes an attempt to give answers to that question. With subject carrier, Oliver Hacke, who is very much interested in contemporary electronic music, pays tribute to revolutionary development in techno and house during the last 5 years, fusing it with his own ideas of sound design/mastering and dynamics. Influenced by artists such as: Cristian Vogel, Neil Landstrumm, as well as Herbert and Thomas Brinkmann, he has added an universal but individual flavor to this album. "On this 12" you will find two remixes of the outstanding Oliver Hacke LP Subject Carrier that was released in 2004 on Trapez. The remix EP involves prominent U.S. producer and DJ John Tejada (Palette) and rising artist Alex Under. John Tejada has transformed the minimal groover '6:04' into a techno epic with ups and downs. Deep parts and quirky sequences were added, creating a masterpiece of music. If you like bass-lines this track will be in your top list. On the flip-side, Alex Under has developed a hypnotic Spanish techno groover with Detroit techno trance elements out of the original track '7:03.'"

"Oliver Hacke known from Trapez releases a stunning 12" on the new Traum imprint. 'Polar' is a series within Traum dedicated to dark dance floor techno.
