"Fresh from releasing his excellent debut album with Samim as Fuckpony, Jay Haze flies solo for his soulful Kindisch debut. The EP kicks off with the title track, with the US producer in Berlin fusing tantalizing, clicking beats with evocative, old school house chords and a reflective male vocal by his Stateside friend, Big Bully. The end result is refreshingly old school and hypnotic, but at the same time an ultra-modern house track. Next up is 'The First Time,' a track that works on a number of levels. Haze's use of bumping rhythms means that it is a highly effective dancefloor number, while the atmospheric textures and a sexy, seductive vocal by Big Bully reminds us all what it feels like to fall in love for the first time. Finally, there's the dub version of the title track. Although the vocal is absent, this alternate mix is still full of emotion, yet it's easier for DJs to get busy with in the mix."
