Unlike his statement 'There's No Place To Hide' on the first record, 'Rose' appears to be a perfect place fulfilled with beauty. However, to the end of it both angry and epic guitar outbursts together with clusters of a mechanical piano tear open the big, bad wound, a mirror to the narcissicst in us all. However Lady Sleep is way more concentrated, certain and self-confident than the past releases. The longing doesn't tear Hecker down anymore, it turns out to be some sort of heartbreaking friendship. Lady Sleep has been produced with Guy Sternberg at Lowswing Studios, Berlin and with it's instrumentation it clearly sets focus on Infinite Love Songs. Less abundant, more space to the essential.
