"Enter the world of the infectious beat down, of unpredictable chaos, the cries of eagles, rock chariots, and the unchained expressions of 2 youths ... Japanther. They love you, so come with them ... heavily laced in graffiti, bike riding, and now creating a higher level of do what you feel -- their splintering punk & beat tightness will fill your pleasure center with warmth. They make music that causes uncontrollable dance, beats so infectious you convulse, punk so tight you sweat your cares to the ground, and make one realize that sometimes, a great time is just a great time ... these kids know their history, and are not doomed to repeat; Japanther is an attitude."

Master of Pigeons
brings you 14 new tracks recorded over the past year. Japanther sort of call this album 'their positive album' even though some of the songs are straight up noise, punk, and misunderstood ride your bike anthems, there is a decidedly cheery feel to some (some) of the songs; more than anything, they just want you to go and actually do something fun with your time.. but wait, are Japanther now all softies? Nah, they are still unpredictable as ever, and have the tour stories to prove it..."

"Japanther have now officially been tearing it up since 2002, since then they've played over 800 shows, toured the country 19 or who knows how many times, and have created a ravenous following. They still live in NYC, but you'd never know, as they're never here. On their new 8 song EP
Yer Living Grave
, Japanther come to the party with a sound more faithful to their live show than we've heard on previous recordings....this is an instant classic. Japanther are simply 2 people, Ian Vanek and Matt Reilly, but it's amazing what a solid wall these 2 create, and what an incredible live experience they are to behold."

"When Japanther released
Dump the Body in Rikki Lake
in 2003, it seemed complete. However, something happened in 2005 to resurrect the
Rikki Lake
experience. Earlier that year, Japanther had worked on a rock puppet opera called
Don't Trust Anyone Over 30
, a collaboration with Dan Graham, Tony Oursler and several other artists. This rock puppet show debuted in Miama for Art Basel, and later played at The Walker Arts Center and The Whitney Biennial. Well, that's great, but Japanther felt they had at least one more punk rock opera left in them, and puppets, big puppets. So they conceived
Dump the Body in Rikki Lake
. This is NOT the original album re-done live -- these are almost ALL new songs! It is more of an updated version of
Dump the Body in Rikki Lake
. During October of 2005, Japanther played every Friday, two shows each night. A room was meticulously painted to look exactly like the album cover of the 2003 release, 11-foot high puppets were commissioned... the fight was on! The opera was: Japanther (music), Devin Flynn (murals), Dan Luce (puppets), UFO (mobiles), Elisabeth Arkhipoff (video), Eugene Tsai (lighting), Chad Nau (DVD and filming). Luckily they had the foresight to record it all visually; on 5 different cameras!
Dump the Body in Rikki Lake
(A Punk Rock Puppet Opera DVD) is a selection of songs from various shows during that fateful October, some music videos, a documentary made by Matt of Japanther called
Punk House
and three additional bonus shows filmed in their entirety! Double-sided DVD: flip it and pretend you're listening to vinyl!" NTSC format, region free.
