This release has come a long way since Jichael handed a CDR to label owner Marc Leclair (Akufen) on his last trip to Munich. Since then, Marc has played the hell out of these three tracks in his numerous DJ sets around the planet, getting fantastic reactions everywhere. Michael Reinboth (of Compost Records) has been harassing Jichael about the release of this new fabulous EP for months now. We understand clearly why. ...Wasn't Me crosses many different genres, from the opening 'The Grass Is Always Greener' that features slick deep grooves reminding old Basic Channel material, to 'Freitag Abend RMX' that we are proud to put back into circulation again after being sold out on Pastamusik and the long incursion in the dark fjords of his mind through the track 'Snuff' that he co-produced with Ole Larsson, an unknown producer from Iceland."

"As we all are already used to when Jichael is behind the machines, we get what we want but never what we expect. You can call this easily Same Same But Different and that's the way it is. The 'Flatscreen' on the A-side isn't flat. Something around 14 minutes long, it develops a lot of grooves that weren't audible 2 seconds ago. So normally this track should be called 'Endless Hollow' or something like this because the longer you hear, it the deeper you fall. For sure a killer track that wouldn't fit on any flatscreen of the world. Flatscreens namely have only two dimensions, this track doesn't get by with four of it. And the B-side that he produced with his friend Blimp answers to a name that nobody understands except himself. '1000BUGZ' is one of the more typical stories of Jichael for which we love him since years. An on and on going groove bravely climbs to his climax just to detonate there and fall back into the valley of sub-basses where he came from. After years of waiting, we are very proud to present this release and we cannot wait to hold it in our hands!"
