Title: Space Shanty
Label: ESOTERIC RECORDINGS (UK)
Format: CD
Price: $19.00
Catalog #: ECLEC 2046CD
"New release for this highly regarded cult album featuring Steve Hillage. 24-bit remastered from the original master tapes. Best known as the album that first brought the guitar playing talents of guitarist Steve Hillage to public prominence, Khan's sole album is a splendid example of a fusion of Canterbury flavored rock combined with jazz and space-rock influences. Originally released in 1972 by Deram records, it can now clearly be seen as the blue print for Hillage's later solo success. Hillage has acknowledged that Space Shanty was the dry run for his classic Fish Rising album. This reissue is re-mastered from the original master tapes and has extensive liner notes and includes two bonus tracks from a rediscovered acetate disc."

Title: Who Never Rests Remixed Vol. 1
Label: I'M SINGLE (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: IMS 001EP
"Can 'Khan' Oral, the international all-genre performer and 'man who never rests' visionary launches his new project I'm Single, a 12" record label as a new platform for him and his worldwide network of musicians and friends. Khan, renowned for his standing between the worlds of electronic and classic songwriting, glamour and deconstruction, ecstasy and quality plans with I'm Single to support his artistic vision with originality and creativity that will continue his goal of tearing down the walls of mono-culture and single style approach standardization in the world of music. The path of I'm Single is not a trend or artistic turn that Khan has just picked up on. His roots in the first techno generation on labels like Force Inc./Mille Plateux, Harvest EMI, Matador Record, Smile Communications or Cologne Liquid Sky confirm his artist credibility in creating cult classics. In the early '90s, Khan moved with Jimi Tenor to New York, creating multiple 12"s and projects, i.e. Bizz O.D., El Turco Loco, 4E, Kid & Khan. The I'm Single debut 12" is comprised of exclusive remixes out of Khan's last studio album Who Never Rests on Tomlab. DJ Kaos famous for remixing !!! and Roxy Music has produced a German 'Kraut-trance' pop version of 'On The Run.' Fabian Stall, also known as Zero Cash (Television Rocks, Aggro Colgne), is represented with a flaming down-beat ballad of 'Favor After Favor.' Also, the techno snob Dirk Leyers presents a cryptic dark dance club track, 'You Like To Party?'"

Title: Candygirl
Label: I'M SINGLE (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: IMS 008EP
I'm Single presents a single by the disco troubadour Khan. "Candygirl" is Adam and Eve, Joseph Fritzl and Angela Merkel. She is German schlager-kitsch but epic, deep-disco-house. Zeki Muren meets David Hockney. DJ Kaos delivers a straight pumping, Chicago jacking-house mix and Japan's Ikuo digs deep into his '80s neon-frosted cookie box. Both sweet and driving. This spinning lollipop is accompanied by cover art from Italian artists Miro Mastropasqua and Onze.

Title: No Comprendo
Label: PLAYHOUSE (GERMANY)
Format: LP
Price: $15.50
Catalog #: PLAY 049LP
"Playhouse, in co-operation with Matador, is proud and delighted to present the vinyl version of the Khan album No Comprendo. Khan's debut together with DJ Snax as Comatose Captain on Playhouse was followed by further bizarre excursions into the abysses of New York City. Unlike the Blaze productions, which elucidate the spiritual and self-contained world of deep house, this illustrates the New York of 'White Trash', the burning hearts, the dark cramped basement flats and bizarre encounters foreboded by American myths."

Title: Blue Pool 2
Label: SUPER 8 (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $9.00
Catalog #: SUPER 8.8
"'Ambient' companion to be used alternatingly with the first volume. Brilliant, brilliant stuff; the a side is a side-long BCP-ish epic, the b is made up of short-ish dual-osc nuggets; like some forgotten 70's solo synth classic (I keep thinking of Popol Vuh, although it's perhaps more adjacent in application to Richard Pinhas's solo records outside of Heldon, only more blissed-out). If you every doubted this guy's awareness of the history of electronics, look no further." -- Hrvatski. 1999 release. Limited stock.

Title: Who Never Rests
Label: TOMLAB (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $15.00
Catalog #: TOM 096CD
"With his previous albums on Matador, the journey was just starting. With 1-900 GET-KHAN, Khan launched the persona of a male hustler, selling himself to the audience by performing in a pair of underpants with 'Khan' stitched on the ass. It certainly got the party started! Then with No Comprendo, Khan produced a living homage to the artists that inspired him, collaborating with Diamanda Galas, Andre Williams, Kid Congo Powers, Brigitte Fontaine, Julee Cruise, And Stereo Total's Francoise Cactus. Now the party isn't really over... it's just mutated into a celebration of Khan. 'Honey, it's been a journey to the moon and back...' he sings on 'Favor After Favor,' and that summarizes Who Never Rests pretty well. Now he's quite literally found his voice. Six years ago, he had other people sing his songs and now it's him -- solo. Unashamed. Upfront. Honest. All or nothing. Khan times 20!"
