"The follow-up to Ben Klock's grandios first release on BPitch Control comes in just right. Who ever thinks 'Tag der Arbeit' is impossible to top is deadly wrong. Ben Klock calls 'Glow' a 'spontaneous excursion into rock.' How does that sound? Grandios."

Big Time
Label:
BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format:
12"
Price:
$10.00
Catalog #:
BPC 126EP
After his releases on Memo, BPitch Control's new sub label, Ben Klock once again pays homage to BPitch Control itself. Skillful as usual, the Berlin-based producer and DJ reduces the music to its essence. A straight line is upheld throughout all tracks, without getting watered down by clicking sounds. Dark bass sounds and the combination of deep and upbeat breaks speak of grand nights at big clubs where the party goes on and on and on...

October
Label:
BPITCH CONTROL (GERMANY)
Format:
12"
Price:
$10.00
Catalog #:
BPC 165EP
Cold, dark seasons may come, but
Ben Klock
has the remedy: forcing you onto the dancefloor until sweat drops down your forehead. "October" houses a groovy beat that pounds constantly for 9 minutes, until the hi-hats come in to give some relief. "Similarity" features a bass line that slowly purls into the 7-minute long tune. The hi-hat pushes everything forward and forward. This track is a must on every MP3 player while going downhill on icy slopes.

Title:
Earthquake
Label:
MEMO (GERMANY)
Format:
12"
Price:
$9.00
Catalog #:
MEMO 001EP
"Darkness is back! Hail to the straightness of the very first Memo: for his 12" 'Earthquake' Ben Klock (aka Ben E. Clock on Sonarkollektiv, WMF Rec or BPitchcontrol) ambitiously explores the full range of darkness with some thinned-out techno and tech house. And yes, it's still the essence of things that counts. With track one, 'Earthquake', Ben ventures into minimal territory. Techno at the break of dawn -- darkening, grumbling and whimpering (!) In the convolutions of the brain. Paranoia? Nope, just acid bleeps. 'Frozen City' (a2) eclectically gets into the shuffle fever. They're so romantic, these swinging, slightly melancholic etudes. It seems as though a snow queen looks down upon her empire with ice crystals on her cheeks. Or were they frozen tears? A track that knows: everything's as transient as a vanitas still life. 'Lumo' on side B spins the darkness even further: a dry, knarzy variation on minimal funk with some real pumping beats. Put your hands in the air, please. And finally you may click your tongue to the last track 'Land of Milk & Honey': give us more kicking darkness, cheeky knarz sounds and tech-style electroids."

Title:
Czeslawa/Warszawa
Label:
OSTGUT (GERMANY)
Format:
12"
Price:
$10.00
Catalog #:
OSTGUT 005EP
The fifth release on Ostgut comes from Berlin's
Ben Klock
. "Czeslawa" is a track Klock tailor-made for his sets at Berghain as a hypnotic club tool, and this track is a beast -- slightly infused with acid, subtly grilling the dancefloor in a way you won't forget too quickly. This is pure techno for the wee hours of the morning. "Warszawa" focuses on something more musical and playful, oozing with high spirits and swing. When those snappy strings set in, both rave veterans and novices will embrace each other blissfully.
