This is Berlin-based techno/house DJ/producer Oliver Koletzki's highly-anticipated second album for Stil Vor Talent. Großstadtmärchen is an electronic album of the finest proportions, and finds the artist fully committed to his roots, which can be traced back to the pop music of the '80s and '90s, while still transporting the fresh energy of today's electronic music productions. Also featured on this record are a wide variety of contributors: Mieze Katz from the German electro-pop outfit MIA, the hot German pop-rock-singer Axel Bosse, critically-acclaimed indie band Kate Mosh, as well as newcomers like Fran, Pyur and Juli Holz. The result is 10 songs that easily fluctuate between catchy pop tracks, modern house grooves and '80s synthesizer pop, while still maintaining the Koletzkieske sound dynamic. "This Is Leisure" is based around Mieze Katz's sexy voice and a seductive guitar song-pattern. "Zuckerwatte" is a very fine electro-pop tune, and "Kusskompatibel" and "Warschauer Straße" harken to the artist's first years in Berlin and his love for house music. "Hypnotized" is a great, shining bright light of pop music that has already made massive waves in Germany. "Headshaped Box" encapsulates what indietronic sounds like in the year 2009: symphonic, melodic and simply unique, and "These Habits" is a downbeat, trip-hop groove, featuring the wonderful vocals of 17 year-old Pyur. Last up is a bonus track: Oliver Koletzki remixes "Nimm Mich Mit" by the electronic boy-band Die Raketen. Oliver Koletzki is not your average techno producer. His productions and his sense for original music also have a deep rooting within pop culture. Thus, Großstadtmärchen is the logical consequence from two decades of intense musical production. Here comes a mature, yet still playful pop album that manages to combine many different influences into one harmonious oeuvre.

Here comes the second single release from Oliver Koletzki's Großstadtmärchen. Packed with two remixes of "These Habits" by Lexy and AKA AKA, a remix of "Hypnotized" by Dapayk and the original of "U-Bahn," this EP marks the perfect boundary between home listening and club action. Lexy cuts up the vocal only slightly, adding more rhythmic grooves and bouncy loops on top, AKA AKA turn "These Habits" into a tech-house-feast, and Dapayk's wooden loop and analog bass line take a spine-tingling, minimal approach.

Six years and over sixty releases later, Stil vor Talent can look back at many magnificent moments in the label's history. Originally started to give other musicians the chance to showcase their music, Stil vor Talent has preserved this very down-to-earth attitude until today. Now it is time to congratulate everyone involved and the fans of Stil vor Talent with a special birthday present: a six-year anniversary compilation that celebrates the past, present and future of the label on two CDs. The first CD titled "What We Do" presents 17 all new and exclusive, unreleased tracks by a lot of the label's closest artists, while the second CD named "What We've Done" is a 70-minute mix by Oliver Koletzki that includes some of his personal highlights of the more recent past of the label. "What We Do" is a unique compilation that features 17 new tracks that are very much orientated towards all corners of the contemporary dancefloor. From melodic house on tracks by Niko Schwind, Björn Störig, Mick Rubin, Murat Kilic and Chroma & Inexcess to Animal Trainer's beautiful early morning anthem "Krambambuli," house is an overarching theme on this compilation. But other genres find their way into the mix as well: Bruch & Junior have contributed a piece of vocal dub techno with "Slack Me" while Niconé and Sascha Braemer have teamed up with singer Anna Rikje Rosenthal to create a slow-moving pop track. Leaning more towards the tech-house side of things are the tracks by newcomer Ryan Dupree, Kellerkind, Jürgen Kirsch, Tobi Kramer and Channel X. Last, but not least there are tracks by engineering genius Florian Meindl, with his personal take on disco, and by Daso as well as Oliver Koletzki himself. On "What We've Done" Oliver Koletzki has carefully selected and mixed 12 tracks from the back catalog of Stil vor Talent. Starting out with the two piano-based tracks "Jazzbians" by Bruch & Junior and "Shine" by Niko Schwind, Oliver slowly moves into more peak-time territory that culminates in an early climax with the first ever single by David August, "Trumpet's Victory." Things stay hot with Sascha Braemer & Dan Caster's best-selling "People" before calming down a little again with Channel X's "Snug Descent" which features Jake The Rapper. On the last two tracks, the mix gets very musical with a Marek Hemann remix of Oliver Koletzki and Fran's "Arrow And Bow" before things are finished off by a Daso remix of Oliver Koletzki's own "Since You Are Gone." This mix embodies the groove and soul of house music while being delivered with the right punch for a hungry dancefloor.

The first part of his big-city tale entitled Großstadtmärchen acted like a catapult for Berlin-based techno/house DJ/producer Oliver Koletzki in 2009, pushing him from the DJ booth into the limelight of electronic pop music. Now, three years later, he releases a sequel in the form of Großstadtmärchen 2. In addition, Stil Vor Talent is presenting this jam-packed double vinyl remix package of some of the album's many highlights. Things kick off with the epic "The Devil In Me," a pop anthem featuring the beautiful voice of Berlin wonderboy Jan Blomqvist. The original song features Oliver's distinctive piano and synthesizer melodies, as well as a strong guitar sample, over which Blomqvist sings in his unique style. Niconé & Sascha Braemer take the track to the dancefloor by creating a slowly pulsating tech-house remix that builds upon the groovy guitar sample. Format:B then go out of their comfort zone and use the original vocal from the chorus to design a melodic and organic peak-time house affair that simply keeps on moving and moving. Next up is "You See Red," a pop song of international appeal that introduces the British singer Dear Prudence. Swiss head house honcho Kellerkind constructs a slick, deep house cut of the original that is very much emblematic of the new wave of pure and raw house music of today. Berlin techno kids Channel X then make the original vocals central to their rework, thus constructing a tech-house version that possesses all the groove needed to get bodies heated on the floor. On the second vinyl, "Still" gets its remix treatment. While the original is a high-energy pop affair, featuring the characteristic voice of Fran, Niko Schwind mainly utilizes its melodies while pitching the vocals down for a masculine effect. This works very well for his laid-back house groove. Then, Stil Vor Talent youngster Björn Störig takes Fran's original work and assembles a jacking house cut around it. In contrast, Tobi Kramer aims for the peak-time by producing a fast-paced techno piece. Last up, are three more of Oliver's original songs from the album. "Let Me Go Down" is a piece of smooth disco-funk that features the goosebump-inducing soul voice of MC Ramon, while "Boy Got Soul" shows Oliver's love for early hip-hop of the G-Funk-era. "I Miss My Friends" is an instrumental piece of melancholic electronica about the lonesomeness of the DJ on the road. Luckily for Oliver, and for the rest of us, he managed to get all his friends involved in his latest offering, which is as diverse and eclectic as it gets.
