"Detroit producer Kenny Larkin takes a break from the stand-up comedy to put out a new album on Carl Craig's Planet E label. Who says techno artists don't have a sense of humour? Kenny Larkin's output has been quiet of late, the reason being that he has moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in stand-up comedy and independent film-making. Keys? is Larkin's first album since Funkfaker (2004), but don't expect belly laughs, Keys... is serious business: Larkin's most dancefloor-oriented album to date. 'The majority of the album was written at my home in L.A.,' says Larkin. 'But I flew to Detroit a few times to work in Carl's studio which did wonders for my inspiration. This 2CD, which will be released as a limited-edition of 1,000 units, will come in a DVD packaging created by Newsgroup and includes a free download of a DJ-mix by Kenny Larkin himself. This CD gives a great retrospective overview of his work, including both the dancefloor burners and deeper material Kenny Larkin has released under different labels and aliases such as Pod and Dark Comedy.
