Artist: LAUER
Title: Brontosaurus 5
Label: BRONTOSAURUS (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: BS 005EP
"'It's a Long Way to Tipperary' and Brontosaurus is already reaching reference number 5 after its first most successful year of blood, sweat, tears and parmesello. The records have so far been hammered by such diverse DJs as Prins Thomas, Steve Bug, Richard Sen, Ata, Laurent Garnier, Radio Slave, DJ T., Steve Kotei, Baby G or Cassy, but have not yet turned the artists Arto Mwambe, The Exile Missile, Extraproduktionen and Lauer into rich people. The next attempt, Brontosaurus 5, contains two tracks of the label boss Phillip Lauer, known for his serious house & disco (even Italo) flavored proto-work-outs (recently he did some Brontosaurus remixes for the labels Boogie Farm and Rekids). As always, there will be 500 beautifully hand-crafted covers. Brontosaurus got game."

Title: H.R. Boss/Banned
Label: LIVE AT ROBERT JOHNSON (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: PLAYRJC 009EP
The power of Lauer is indisputable. Blessed with the uncanny ability to make hooks that would make Bone Thugs-N-Harmony jealous in their heyday, Phillip Lauer is the melody man. This tour de force comes in two parts on the beloved Live At Robert Johnson label. "H.R. Boss" is New Romantic-Italo-not-Italowave that puts love on top of love. Feels like Delta NRG's filthy little brother. Delectable!

Phillip Lauer is a Frankfurt-based producer, musician and DJ and a name to be remembered. Now, Permanent Vacation releases an out-of-stock pearl from his Brontosaurus label catalog. Title: Phillips
Label: RUNNING BACK (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $17.00
Catalog #: RB 004CD
This is the magnificent debut album by Phillip Lauer on Running Back. Frankfurt's melody man has amassed a body of work that includes the adventures of Arto Mwambe, top singles on his extinct Brontosaurus label for Permanent Vacation or Live At Robert Johnson as well as remixes for the likes of Maxmillion Dunbar or with the Tuff City Kids project. The 12 songs that make up Phillips have been described as 808 State kissing Movin Records while Cluster are in the room -- or a Dolby NR tempest. Whatever you want to call it, it has all the ingredients and romantic notions that can make dance music oscillate between the sacred and the profane: house, gloomy Gothic grooves, cock-eyed electro, new wave trance and lots of songs without words. The power of Lauer.

Title: Trainman (Tensnake Remixes)
Label: RUNNING BACK (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.50
Catalog #: RB 032EP
Tensnake is the host of Phillip Lauer's debut album inauguration party. Delivering not one but two remixes and a barrel of laughs, Hamburg's happy man smears thick red lipstick on Lauer's bittersweet "Trainman" symphony. His "Franceman Mix" does exactly what it says -- a long intro gets rouléd up into a fierce dancing school contest. The "Tranceman Mix" goes the whole nine yards: marimba magic, hard-trance breaks, drum rolls and early-morning glory moments. It's impossible to defang that snake.
