"Since its inception earlier this year rising out of the ashes of the groundbreaking, genre-bending City Rockers label, Damian Lazarus's Crosstown Rebels imprint has proved itself to be one of THE labels shaping the new electronic dance underground. Rebel Futurism is not only the debut mix album for Damian Lazarus and Crosstown Rebels, it is one of the first compilations to really bring together the essence of this new movement of dance music. Damian compiled both of the hugely successful and genre-defining Futurism compilations for City Rockers, and with residencies and gigs in Berlin, Barcelona, Paris, Milan, Tokyo and, of course, at his own Slash and Burn parties in London, he has hands-on appreciation of what it takes to move the crowd. Rebel Futurism fuses house, techno, breakbeat, and electro with DIY/electropunk attitude into a forward-thinking, party-rocking dance mix." Title: Crosstown Rebels Vol. 01
Label: CROSSTOWN REBELS (UK)
Format: CD
Price: $15.50
Catalog #: CRM 005CD
Crosstown Rebels Vol. 01 is a compilation that shows the story behind the Crosstown Rebels label: undoubtably the UK's market leader in underground, cutting-edge dance music. Expertly run by Damian Lazarus, Rebels has become the home for some of the best techno, electro and house records released in the last three years. With artists like Pier Bucci, Kiki & Silversurfer, Jennifer Cardini, Black Strobe, Ost & Kjex, DJ Koze, Hiem and Luke Solomon, Crosstown Rebels are at the forefront of a new energy in international club culture. Alongside the Rebel's top-name artists, the mix also features remixes from some key electronic producers -- Alex Smoke, Rob Mello, Mathew Jonson and Dominik Eulberg. Not just a label retrospective, this first volume brings things up to date by featuring two brand new, previously-unreleased Rebels singles, Mlle Caro's "Far Away" and Minilogue's new EP "City Boy." Also featured are two long-deleted Rebel anthems, the thundering monster that is Eulberg's remix of Bucci's "L'Nuit" and Mathew Jonson's work of absolute genius for Hiem's "She's The One." Also featuring: Presslaboys, Andre Kraml (feat. Schad Privat), 3 Channels, Far Away, Frankie Flowerz, Arnaud Robotini, Ho and Matt Tolfrey & Craig Sylvester.

Title: Neverending
Label: GET PHYSICAL MUSIC (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.50
Catalog #: GPM 112EP
This is the second single preceding Damian Lazarus' full-length Smoke The Monster Out. Although "Neverending" is lush with uplifting rhythms and euphoric tones, the vocals tell the story of a broken heart. M.A.N.D.Y. teams up with Alexkid to tech out the mix while adding some minimal funk flavor. Brennan Green adds width and space with loose, disco-style beats. A tender wobble of the bass line and a slew of new sounds surface in both the dub and vocal versions.
