"Another unreleased classic from Trunk Records, this time from Desmond Leslie who was a pioneer of the unusual, throughout most of his eccentric life. Educated at Trinity College Dublin, he went on to join the RAF, wrote a wartime best seller, moved into film production, wrote a keystone in the development of the New Age movement (The Flying Saucers Have Landed), nurtured an interest in contemporary music, became one of the very earliest pioneers of British modern composing, had some of his music used in the early sci-fi short The Day The Sky Fell In (utilising electric fans and a Morris Oxford!), Dr. Who, and various odd TV, and in 1963 shot to instant front page fame when he leapt from the audience and punched Bernard Levin live on "That Was The Week That Was" -- the critic had given a scathing review of his wife's new show. Desmond issued a short run of handmade acetates January 1960, 'just for friends' we believe. This new CD is that very recording in its entirety. It has never been released commercially before. Also included are Leslie's entire, original and extraordinary sleevenotes." Last copies...
