"Lil Tony, known for his perfect blend of afterhour and old school DJ sets, set high standards with his Future Beat Investigation project in 2007-08 together with fellow Helsinki heads Roberto Rodriguez and Kimmo Oksanen from the infamous Acid Kings combo. Releases on Raw Fusion and Sonar Kollektiv plus a bunch of remixes for 2020 Visions and Laka made their name one to watch. Now he“s dropping some serious raw house grooves on Moodmusic, taking a turn to Dixon Innervisions as a training lap, the serious mileage will be done with the Raw Trax series for Moodmusic. Vol. 1 starts with 'Juuri,' an extensive journey into riffy, 2-note bassline territory with dark themes and a demon-like drum programming taking from the Chicago school of books alį 1987. Works like a fuckin' dream as one noted on a recent gig at Redrum, his local Helsinki club-night. 'Make Some Noise' blends Kerri Chandler influences with the perfect tech-house touch from his previous FBI singles, rolling the bass til you drop -- it“s raw and we like it. The closing track 'Semble' could be hard to describe as a Moodmusic sound, but has such a powerful wild pitch groove we could not let it slip to another label out there. This is the second volume of Lil Tony's Raw Trax series of releases. Tony has been caned by everyone from Luciano to DJ Hell, and his raw grooves cut the crap and move people.
