Artist: LITTLE RICHARD
Title: Here's Little Richard
Label: DOXY (ITALY)
Format: LP+CD
Price: $26.00
Catalog #: DOK 301LP
"Although 'epic' is a term much bandied about by music journalists, there are few moments in rock & roll history that truly deserve that label. That said this LP, Little Richard's debut, is one of them. While it's true that in many ways Little Richard was continuing in the style of predecessors like Fats Domino, it can also be said that 'the Georgia Peach' was the original punk rocker of R&B. He cranked up the volume, caked on the eyeliner, upped the tempo, and pounded the ivories while wailing, 'tutti frutti, loose booty!' (although it had to be changed to 'aw rooty' for the official recording)." On 180 gram vinyl with a CD of the entire album.

Title: Volume 2
Label: DOXY (ITALY)
Format: LP+CD
Price: $26.00
Catalog #: DOK 312LP
"Originally released in 1958, this was Little Richard's second LP for Specialty. Here the Georgia Peach was at the very pinnacle of his career, having unbelievably scored 14 Top Ten hits on the R&B charts in less than 3 years, including 'Good Golly, Miss Molly' and 'Keep A Knockin', which both 'crossed over' into the Billboard Top 10 as well. Interestingly, classics like 'Baby Face' and 'By The Light Of The Silvery Moon' are also given the Little Richard treatment here, perhaps in a bizarre attempt to win a more mature audience."

Title: The Fabulous Little Richard
Label: DOXY (ITALY)
Format: LP+CD
Price: $26.00
Catalog #: DOK 313LP
"By the time this album was finally released in 1959, Little Richard had been out of show business for over a year, having since returned to the church and gospel music. In fact, his first gospel album came out soon after the release of The Fabulous Little Richard. Recorded in 1958 for Specialty, this album is a series of outtakes and studio tracks, many of which feature the backing vocals of The Stewart Sisters, which apparently were added at Little Richard's request in an attempt to give the album a more gospel feel." On 180 gram vinyl, with CD version.

Title: The Implosive Little Richard
Label: JEROME RECORDS (SPAIN)
Format: LP
Price: $19.50
Catalog #: JRLP 002LP
Subtitled: The Pre-Specialty Sessions 1951-1953. The legend wants it that when Little Richard was working as a dishwasher in a restaurant, he used to sing and shout in the same irrepressible way that would make him famous a few years later, when his concerts were being televised all around the world. This set finally corroborates such a legend. The Implosive Little Richard illustrates the reconstruction process of the wildest and freest identity in rock and roll history. Here are all of Richard's first recordings from the early '50s with the Johnny Otis and Billy Wright bands, the Deuces of Rhythm and the Tempo Toppers. All his pre-Specialty, pre-"Tutti Frutti" waxings, including his four RCA singles and all the 45s he recorded for Peacock Records. Housed in a gatefold sleeve with extensive liners, label shots, dozens of pictures, vintage press clippings and reviews.
