Christian Löffler has a magic touch to whatever he does, and played back loud, this seemingly calm EP turns into an unexpected club stormer. "Cord" contains Löffler's deep, round signature sound, with a pumping deep bass, broken analog polyphonic synthesizers, and a pad intertwined with warm hiss. "Glare" is resonant with beautiful chords, melody miniatures, a bouncing bass-drum and gravity-defying percussion. "Raise" is a prime-time rave monster, and "Core" is an ambient miniature that digs deeper into the heart.

This is Christian Löffler's single before the release of his debut album on Ki called A Forest. Löffler took field recordings of the Aspen trees in Darss, Germany. The landscape near Darss is characterized by signs of storm and rough sea climate, but is also considered a popular health resort in Germany. The tracks on Aspen create this contrary atmosphere: noise and silence, destruction and peacefulness, electronic sounds and traditional instruments, which unite in harmony.
