"Uruguay, Monte Video's dream team Monoblock have first emerged on the European scene in 2006 by appearing on a few different labels from Freak n Chic to Archipel... turning some heads with their unique sound and then throwing it down live and stealing the show at Valencia's Electro Splash beach festival in 2006. Now Martin Tc and Guikle are about to join the Cynosure family and raise the bar for the label once more. 'Sugar Morph' is a magical blend of stripped-down South American grooves combined with a slick synth bass hook and layers upon layers of deep effects and modulated percussion. Already catching the attention of a few DJ greats, this track is sure to weave into many crates this summer. On the flipside, Monoblock keep the flow with 'lalala.' An excellent number designed for a sweet dip in the mix followed by the ultra-funky, tweaked house groove, 'Untone.' Super shuffled layers of quirky percussion lay the carpet for a power house Rhodes/bass drop. With an ultra-funky walking bass line taking control of the groove and driving things to a boiling point."

"The Boys from Uruguay are back with another burner of an EP. Monoblock's debut EP was in everyone's crate that knew anything about minimal techno and was rocked in sets from DJ Bobo to Richie Hawtin. Since then the boys have been one of the most sought after live acts in the world and continue to help keep the genre alive by delivering some seriously funky techno. The EP starts off with the ultra funky Roller called 'Rizco.' Not wasting any time Monoblock get right to it and roll out a carpet of percussion backed with some signature bouncing analog bass. A perfect combination of sounds running up and down the scale. Continuing down the same path, things strip back a little here with 'Dobason,' a more playful cut with the focus on the overdriven lead bass. Our old friends the 808 and 909 are there to play in the mix too. Then things in this track take a little melodic left turn and explore a dissonant direction that somehow leads you right back to where you started. Finally leaving you in the deep with 'Ombù,' a subterranean mixture sounding like Basic Channel meets Gotan project. A dreamy plucked synth soaked in reverb dances around some Uruguay style accordion and sequences of percussion. Molting with a deep sub roll and delayed chord stabs this track definitely shows off the musical abilities of this duo. Once again Monoblock write another EP that is sure to resonate on dancefloors worldwide this summer."

A complex remix using several horn parts and held together by a labyrinth of percussion. The result is a monster of a groove backed by samples from one of jazz's all time greats. "Following the massive 'Squeeks and Kaoss' EP by Active Sense the pressure was on to keep the bar high! Next up on Immigrant Records we present Monoblock, the first of our digital artists to make their way onto vinyl. Their debut Immigrant EP was so well received we decided to create a remix EP for vinyl. The crazy garden dwarf is back, this time with his mutated friends!! A1 - 'Galgo' (Monoblock Edit), The boys rework their original into a throbbing techno groove using thick rolling bass and crunchy percussion. Add some of Monoblock's signature synth melody as a finishing touch and we have yet another masterpiece from her Uruguayan duo. A2 - 'Lugomi' (Tim Xavier's Bye Bye Brooklyn Remix) The Manmade Masterer himself steps up to the helm fresh from remixing the massive 'R U OK?' on Minus. Tim slows the tempo down to deliver a tight, dark and hypnotic remix... one for the after hours. B1 - 'El Baile Del Enano Jardín' (Alexi Delano & Xpansul Remix) Alexi and Santi retain the energy of the original version in their take on arguably the strongest track from the original EP. Punchy drum programming, heavy bass and creative editing that we've come to expect from two masters of the scene are in full earshot. The duo pull no punches delivering a mix that is guaranteed to tear up dance floors near you soon! B2 - 'Enanoide' (Robin Porter's Knee Innit Mix) Immigrant label owner dives deeper than the others with his rework of 'Enanoide,' flipping it's rough and tough beats into a minimal but warm groovy house number."
