"It's grim up north, eh lad? No matter though, as Manchester's MRK1 pulls out another quality release for us Earwax southerners. 'Bones' is a big-boy banger of a tune -- drop heavy, run for cover bassline business -- no messing about, just draw it back and run again. You can hear hints of Coki and Skream in this one, but there's no mistaking MRK1's tight production ethic and his characteristic sound palette. It might not win many prizes for innovation but there is no doubt that 'Bones' will set off the dancefloor every time. Currently getting plays from Pinch, Skream, Distance, Cyrus and many others. 'Steppa Delights' is a cheeky lil' 4/4 dub number that perfectly crosses into dubstep sets, being at 140bpm.
