µ-Ziq is one of the many monikers of UK electronic producer Mike Paradinas, and this EP is a 7-track 68-minute long excursion into mad experimental drum 'n bass. Totally rearranged breaks churned into pure bleepage, and barely relatable to the jungle cross section, with none of the annoying lounge-mania from Mike's recent Gary Moscheles project. Significantly weird output.

Mike Paradinas's first µ-Ziq album in two years. The first two µ-Ziq albums for the Rephlex organization are considered cornerstones of the contemporary electronic music scene and he has since followed that up with a series of EP and albums for Astralwerks (or Planet µ/Virgin in the UK). Lunatic Harness adds a distinctive Squarepusher angle to Mike's mad programming and there's actual "dark" content buried within, in perhaps his most claustrophobic recording. The floating IDM melodies still pour in though, and the post-Richard D. James nutszoid flavor is a pleasure to bathe in.
