Carousel," nothing has changed to alter this view over the last 30 years, and to say that this work is the "Sgt. Pepper of the avant-garde" would not be hyperbole. The special box edition will consist of: the double LP, which will be a 2LP set with the extra track "Strain, Crack, Break" (never previously available on vinyl and appearing for the first time in any format in its intended unedited form) on side three and an etching on side four. Also included in this box is a t-shirt with the legendary "NWW list" (a list of 294 bands that accompanied NWW on this album) in luminous ink on a black shirt, and a die-cut enamel badge of the woman from the iconic front cover. The collection will be housed in a beautiful box printed with a matte laminate coating. Only 250 copies of this box will be available at retail level. Recorded in 2002 by Steven Stapleton and electronic studio wizard Colin Potter, this is a landmark recording in the field of contemporary electronic music. Restored here to its hour-plus running time, the music becomes much more of a foreground-listening experience. Orchestral-like chords flutter back and forth like ships lost at sea while the sounds of passing cars, boat horns, and creaking doors slowly gather momentum in the background. At around the fifty-minute mark all the extraneous sounds are cut short, leaving only the droning chords and the sound of water. It's a stunning effect and quite different than the dense maximalism of earlier albums."

. Nurse With Wound never fail to surprise, and just when you maybe thought you could second guess how this might sound, they completely shift the direction. In contrast to 2008's
Huffin' Rag Blues
, this release focuses on the darker side of Nurse With Wound. While keeping a fresh, contemporary feel, it nods towards some of the older, more sinister material. For example, "The Golden Age Of Telekinesis" is driving, contrapuntal, tribal percussion mixed with distorted vocal samples, low drone, a scrabbling electronic auctioneer, and feedbacked guitar.
