"Originally released as a private pressing and on label Contraband, Orange Wedge's first album Wedge features seven songs full of driving guitars and strong vocals. Orange Wedge hailed from Baltimore, Maryland, where they formed in 1968. They released two albums (CD release second album No One Left But Me, Long Hair LHC 068CD). Both albums show a mix of long and short songs and lots of loud guitars. Excellent songwriting and remarkable hooks, too. Highlights of the album are 11-minute track 'Death Comes Slowly' and final song 'Revenge', which features some superb Neil Young-influenced guitar playing. CD comes with comprehensive booklet, liner notes by guitar player and composer Joe Farace, and a lot of unseen photos. Digitally remastered. Highly recommended."

"Second album from 1974 is more of the same but slightly more aggressive vocally, particularly on tile track 'No One Left But Me' and with more guitar exhibitionism on 'Hungary Man'. 'Dream' is a pleasant instrumental. 'The Gates' provides a 10-minute stunning finale much in the West Coast-style. Excellent guitar-driven sound all over the album with a melodic psych/prog/rock feel. Occasional use of piano and acoustic guitars make for a varied sound. Lots of loud guitars with great solos. Comprehensive booklet with unseen photos. Digitally remastered. Highly recommended."

"Wah Wah is proud to offer the two LPs by Baltimore's high energy hard rock pride Orange Wedge. Having become one of the most successful live acts in Maryland, Orange Wedge nevertheless didn't get to sign a contract with a proper label, so in 1974 they decided it was time to invest some of their money into the self-production of their first LP. Wedge, the resulting work, shows a highly energetic band performing their own original compositions direct to your ears. Housed in a plain blue sleeve with the title stamped on front, 500 copies were pressed, some to be sent to record companies with the hope of getting a proper contract and others to be sold at gigs and a few of them at local Maryland shops. Needles to say they were quickly deleted and the record is nowadays a much sought after treasure among collectors of the hard rock genre. "The 1976 follow up to Wedge was No One Left But Me. Due to the lack of offers the Orange Wedge also released their second LP as a private pressing that was to be sold at gigs and local shops, and it sold like hot bread making this one an elusive piece among hard rock collectors. Their sound here is still 100% high energy, though an evolution has been made and the band sounds a bit more sophisticated. It was their best selling album at the time with a pressing of 1000 copies that hardly made it out of Baltimore, so here's a very good chance to rediscover this amazing piece of pure rock power.
