Currently residing in Baltimore, Maryland, and co-organizer of the annual One.Twice:Festival and co-founder of Sonar's Treatment monthly (alongside 12k's Richard Chartier), Ben Parris has become well-known within our thriving music scene for his witty mind-set, outgoing personality and unstoppable party antics -- before now close friends with many international minimal artists you know and love. The A-Side ('Loose Impediments') is a nine-minute killer that will impel any minimal techno fiend to willingly and joyously shit his/her own pants while bouncing all over the dancefloor. Meticulously arranged for a DJ to mix with ease, the long-play track starts with a lengthy intro that drives grippingly through quirky percussive snippets, a bouncy bassline, the splattering and crunching of found sounds, boingy tones and gurgling voices -- which all finally carries you to a gritty synth pad that coincides tremendously with a druggy sunrise. The track is perfect for fans of vintage Perlon and Ricardo Villalobos. The B1 track ('Glotsback') is deep, ultra-minimal and gently goofy. On B2, Magda reworks 'Glotsback' into a tracky, electro-ish jammy-jam."
