Aleksi Perälä aka Ovuca aka Astrobotnia is from Finland, and this is his first full-length release under his real name. He has had many stand-out releases under his several aliases and has become a true cornerstone in the Rephlex stable since his first release with them in 1999. Finland's Aleksi Perälä (Ovuco, Astrobotnia) releases quite a unique, atmospheric EP for Rephlex. There are lots of styles here, starting out with ambience, breaks and ragga/dubstep, becoming more melodic and gentle, but ending up funky, moody and minimal, exploring resonant frequencies and harmonics. There should be more modern electronic music that takes it this far.
