The producers behind the Hamburg-based duo
Piemont
are
Frederic Möring-Sack
and
Christian de Jonqueires
. They have been releasing and playing under the name of
Phunklarique & Dejonka
since 2005. Their second release under their newly-formed artist name Piemont on MBF delivers two crazy minimal house stompers with jacking funky grooves that can rock. "Carbonat" is a classic tune, with electro house flair and nervous sequences, hands up in the air madness. "Glycerin" reminds us of
Steve Bug
's "Loverboy," but is more stripped-down and adds electro house sequences and mighty breaks. A duo to look out for.

sequences make the title track "Sympathetic" an electro-house peak time tune. The break down features melodic stabs that collect the energy before the heavy beat of Piemont returns to rock. "Sick Certificate" is stripped down and rocks through its sick sequences pinching the air, still hypnotic. This slammer is a big techno-house tool.

on MBF gives you a glimpse of their forthcoming LP. The EP's theme is the deep sea and the A-side has dedicated itself to the chimneys of the sea, the "Black Smokers," black ugly emissions that create colorful plants that would not be able to "bloom" in such garishness without them. Stoic, slightly funky, slightly psychedelic disco, with ringing bells ascending and drowning again. "Superheated" is a very rhythmic, percussive track, like a crazy sea-monster.
