featured some exceptionally strong Aussie prog rock, blending as it did some fine instrumentals, lots of fuzz guitar and flowing Hammond organ. Comparisons have often been made with their more illustrious musical counterparts, but to many there was a whole lot more to the band than merely reflecting Santana's blend of rock and Latin, although there is no denying the debt that Pirana owed to Santana. There is fine, melodic song writing in abundance, mainly from guitarist and vocalist Tony Hamilton, and it is in the diversity of these self-penned pieces that the band fashions its own individuality."
