Einsjager & Siebenjager
Label:
SPALAX (FRANCE)
Format:
LP
Price:
$20.00
Catalog #:
SPA 14118
Vinyl version of the 5th album from 1975, ("A Soldier And Seven Soldiers"). "One of Popol Vuh's hardest albums. Daniel Fichelscher shines here with crispy guitar solos and driving drums...the title track is the album's crescendo. It is a strange mix of all the band's previous styles, with Djong Yun's vocals thrown in for added eeriness. This track just floods the room with its gentle piano theme, and intruding drums and guitar." Limited stock.

SPALAX (FRANCE)
Format:
CD
Price:
$17.00
Catalog #:
SPA 14216
16th album, from 1986. For a while this was considered the final Popol Vuh rec, unfortunately, that's not the case. Often dismissed as a bland new age epitaph, it's certainly not the place to start hearing the group. It does provide brief glimpses into melancholic bliss, etc. but beware. [deleted, last copies]

Price:

2004 remastered version, with bonus track (previous edition on Spalax is deleted). This was the 4th Popol Vuh album ("Songs of Praise"), originally issued in 1973. "The bonus track 'Be In Love' performance enhanced with violin and oboe with the same line up as for
Hosianna Mantra
in 1973 seams to come from a strange and wonderful world of very special beauty. 'Be In Love' und 'Maria (Ave Maria)' were meant to be released as singles."
