Editions Mego is pleased to present two re-workings of classic Popol Vuh tracks. Mika Vainio takes "Nachts: Schnee" from the 1987 soundtrack Cobra Verde and delivers a skillfully-constructed ambient piece of beauty. Haswell & Hecker turn "Aguirre I" from the 1972 soundtrack Aguirre: The Wrath Of God into the first track to be played at the last rave on Earth. This release uses vintage digital delays and freeze effect units, in conjunction with digital compositional tools. Pressed on red vinyl.

16th album, from 1986. For a while this was considered the final Popol Vuh rec, unfortunately, that's not the case. Often dismissed as a bland new age epitaph, it's certainly not the place to start hearing the group. It does provide brief glimpses into melancholic bliss, etc. but beware. [deleted, last copies]

2004 remastered version, with bonus track (previous edition on Spalax is deleted). This was the 4th Popol Vuh album ("Songs of Praise"), originally issued in 1973. "The bonus track 'Be In Love' performance enhanced with violin and oboe with the same line up as for Hosianna Mantra in 1973 seams to come from a strange and wonderful world of very special beauty. 'Be In Love' und 'Maria (Ave Maria)' were meant to be released as singles."
