Title: Prins Thomas Presents Cosmo Galactic Prism
Label: ESKIMO (BELGIUM)
Format: 2CD
Price: $20.00
Catalog #: ESK 501724
Prins Thomas is now intrinsically linked to the eclectic "space-disco" sounds emanating from his homeland of Norway. Alongside Hans-Peter Lindstrøm their eponymous debut album and Reinterpretations re-workings have opened up their sounds to a whole new audience of music lovers. Prins Thomas has also been making a name for himself with his remixes for Blackjoy, Justus Köhncke, Force Of Nature, Simian Mobile Disco, and for breaking sound systems the world over as a DJ of eclectic dexterity. This collection provides a snapshot of Thomas M. Hermansen in action across two sumptuous discs of avant-garde dance grooves, twisted funk, spaced-out electronics, psychedelic fusion, classic techno, disco, prog rock and all manner of leftfield concoctions. Across 36 tracks we get Hawkwind jamming with Visnadi, Bob James going toe to toe with The Salsoul Invention, Joe Meek twisting by the pool with Holger Czukay, Boards of Canada segueing into Lindstrøm and Closer Musik doing the Detroit tango with Recloose, Carl Craig and Parliament. Many of the original tracks got a special Prins Thomas edit especially for this mix. Other artists include: Joe Meek And The Blue Men, Area Code 615, Crue-L Grand Orchestra, Glissandro 70, Bjørn Torske, Rey De Copas, The Mole, The Electric South, Bob Lind, Carlos Hernandez, Finzy Kontini, Musique, Soylent Green, Metalchicks, Waltz, Uusi Fantasia, Axer, Dubarchanoid Trim, Matias Aguayo, Isolée, Zombi, The Now Generation, The Honeymoon Killers, Tres Demented, Musiccargo, The Paper Dolls and Love On The Run.

Title: The Greatest Tits Vol. 1
Label: FULL PUPP (NORWAY)
Format: 2CD
Price: $15.50
Catalog #: FP 001CD
2008 release. Together with Hans-Peter Lindstrøm, Oslo's Prins Thomas created the climax of the on-going fascination with retro-futurism with their self-titled debut album for the Belgian Eskimo label. Thomas' own label Full Pupp has some of the best house-not-house, neo-disco or call-it-what-you-want dance music records on offer. All exclusively made by Norwegian talent, this is the first retro- or maybe even future-spective CD compilation from this style-leading imprint! Twenty-five tracks, including the label's über-hits such as Prins Thomas' "Goettsching" and Todd Terje's "Italian Stallion," taken from the much sought-after Eurodans EP, plus a selection of edited and previously-unreleased material. Both CDs feature the most complete and original selection of Oslo's class of 2008, and this sensitive selection of old and new acts such as Mental Overdrive, Ytre Rymden Dansskoola and Kalle, Magnus & Daniel finally justifies all the hype. Other artists include: Marius Våreid, Prinsens, Blackbelt Andersen, Magnus International, Diskjokke, Randaberg Ego Ensemble, and Jarle Braathen.

Title: Goettsching - Blackbelt Anderson Rmx.
Label: FULL PUPP (NORWAY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: FP 003EP
"When Manuel Goettsching of German Krautrock luminaries Ashra Temple switched on his sequencer in 1981 and just improvised with synth and guitar for 60 minutes mainly to have some soothing sounds for his own pleasure during a plain flight, he couldn't dream that his E2-E4 would not only become one of the major single influences for Detroit techno but still influence a horde of crazy disco Norwegians to pay tribute another two decades down the line. Well, daddy don't you know that things go in circles! His royal highness Prins Thomas first tricks you onto your dancing feet with a solid percussive disco groove before wrapping your head with gentle gliding synthclouds that are reminiscent of the original's repetitive layers -- before things go too cosy he unleashes the bassline that grows into an acidic monster -- nasty. Black Belt Andersen attacks the theme more in a swift ninja stealth mode: over a thumping funk beat he spreads out the sweet synth melodies and effect-laden guitar lines and lets them blossom into full beauty -- stunning!"

Title: Prins Thomas
Label: FULL PUPP (NORWAY)
Format: CD
Price: $17.00
Catalog #: FP 004CD
This is the first solo full-length release by Norwegian disco superstar, Prins Thomas. This album showcases Thomas's myriad musical gifts over seven sprawling, ever-evolving, head-nodding, navel-gazing, body-moving, mind-mushing tracks, perfectly assembled for an hour-long trip, almost all of it played by the man himself. Guests such as Lindstrøm lends keyboards to "Wendy Not Walter" and in conjunction with Todd Terje (on trumpet), a funky bit of clavinet on "Sauerkraut." From the shimmering, Neu!-like guitar lines of opener "Ørkenvandring," you're in for a kosmische treat. Hand-claps and a battery of percussion propel "Uggebugg" right into the groovy synth-slithers of "Slangemusikk," which fittingly translates as "snake music." More double-digit delights lie just beyond the opening tracks (including a shout-out to the mighty Wendy Carlos), but why ruin the funky and sumptuous space party that awaits your head with so many words...

Title: Fehrara
Label: FULL PUPP (NORWAY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: FP 005EP
"Norway and no end.... thank god! Oslo-based producer and DJ Thomas M. Hermansen aka Prins Thomas is solely responsible for this new masterpiece on Full Pupp Recordings and, my friends outside, Fehrara is one of the most thrilling records of the season! The A-side starts with this kind of very popular disco sound Full Pupp stands for... amazing! The flip brings us a deep and groovy neo-disco-acid tune -- a perfect track for a hot and neverending club night! Epilogue: after sunrise, nearly everybody decided -- the audience were swept off their feet!"

Title: Remiksosaurus
Label: FULL PUPP (NORWAY)
Format: 12"
Price: $13.00
Catalog #: FP 018EP
"After a 2 and a half year wait, I finally managed to knock out a new single. It's actually only my 3rd solo single ever. I'm very happy with it but I've got mixed feelings trying to describe it. You spend a year working on a track and a lazy shop worker or journalist will lump you into the 'cosmicbalearicspacewhatever' straightjacket in 2 seconds; I can at least resist doing the same. Anyway, two are quite psychedelic and one is some kind of cover version of one of my favourite Villalobos trax. As you can hear, I've had loads of fun fooling around in the studio playing the bass, percussion, drums(badly) and synths(even worse...). I do hope you enjoy these as much as I enjoyed making them. I'm working on an album so there might be some more stuff coming soon." -- Thomas Oslo, Feb. 2009

Title: Lang Tung Ting
Label: FULL PUPP (NORWAY)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: FP 031EP
Prins Thomas spreads earthy dub house vibes in a good old Bobby Konders tradition with "Lang Tung Ting," a hard, driving jacker with dry, punching drums and grumbling, low-frequency acidic sounds not modulated by an 808 synth but from warped cello and bassoon lines. Much less sparse, "Ny Maskin" is a dizzying disco/rock jam backed by African beats and a buoyant guitar lick. Prins Thomas proves himself a jack of many trades again.

Title: Live At Robert Johnson Vol. 2
Label: LIVE AT ROBERT JOHNSON (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $15.50
Catalog #: PLAYRJC 002CD
This is the second volume in a 4-part CD compilation series celebrating the 10th anniversary of Frankfurt's Robert Johnson club. Volume 2 has been selected and mixed by one of Norway's best: Full Pupp label head, DJ/producer, and versatile disco Viking, Prins Thomas. In the studio, Thomas sprinkles everything from the Junior Boys and Studio through to Justus Köhncke and techno classics on R&S Records with his lively drum-bass-organ magic. As a DJ, he works his sets from front to back, from loud to quiet, and from one genre to the next through all various shades of grey in between. This is probably the only CD in the whole world on which Ricardo Villalobos dances to "Afro Punk Reggae Dub" by Steel An' Skin with his house band Cos/Mes, where a Playhouse classic from Roman Flügel performs an Acid Test in the "Gallery Oslo" by Kåre & The Cavemen, where synth-rock by Trans Am glows like a fixed star, and where Bjørn Torske makes it clear who was the first to polish the Norwegian disco ball (the Idjut Boys claim this title for England). Also on this mix Closer Musik evokes wistfulness and Sébastien Tellier argues about beard lengths with DJ Harvey of Map Of Africa. Twenty-seven breathtaking gems, some of them affectionately edited by Prins, but always with two hands, a Urei mixing desk, two CD players and turntables, the mischievous Korg Kaoss Pad as well as an in/out insulator, and mixed with that unwavering killer DJ instinct of his. And of course, everything is done live in one take so as to evoke the feeling of a Viking longboat on a stormy sea. Other artists include: Arpadys, Cage & Aviary, Capracara, Rub N Tug, Trans Am, Babytalk, Frankie Valentine, Isoul8, Low Motion Disco, Still Going, James Yuill, Dogs Of War, Anarchic System, Argy & The Mole, Martin Circus, Opolopo, Domu, Mathew Jonson, Samos, and Lindstrøm.
