"Repair are the twin brothers Matt and Mark Thibideau from Toronto, and the singer Dawn Lewis. As a Sub Static act from day one, Repair was first known, like the solo projects of the Thibideau brothers, for deep, organic minimal techno, which distinguished itself in a special way with musicality, hidden between the lines. After several 12" releases, and the EP 'Forgive & Forget', the Repair album is now finally available, which the Canadian threesome has worked on intensively in the last two years. Matt and Mark moved together in a new apartment, along with their combined studio, and they all commuted between Toronto, New York and London (Ontario) in order to involve different musicians and friends, such as Tim Glasgow, who is also part of Sonic Youth's studio crew. For the mastering they succeeded to engage Anthony Valcic, a legend of Canada's industrial scene, who was and is involved in many productions of the Nettwerk label (Skinny Puppy, Download, Front 242 ...). The result of this work is Convenient Arrangements, an album that's never looking for the quick reference sound, it rather breaks out in the opposite direction -- influences from techno and house are woven into melancholic songs, which capture the authentic aesthetic of early electronic pop music. Every sound calibrated accurately and every beat set precisely, its unparasitical magic enchants the membrane, however being capable to move a mountain with this special emotiveness, which signifies the songs of Repair."
