Artist: RITCH, PAUL
Title: Higher
Label: PARADIGMA MUSIK (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $10.00
Catalog #: PARAD 002EP
"Paradigma Musik bet again on the young values of the electronic music club scene on their second release. After the success achieved with the first one, by the promising young Spaniard producer Marc Marzenit, it's now the moment for the French fellow Paul Ritch, who comes out with Higher, made up of three tracks. It is only his second work, after his first one on the well-known German label Resopal Schallware: Grom EP, a vinyl that is already in the sets of many main DJs. He is also preparing releases with labels such as Get Physical Music and MiniSketch. 'Higher,' whose name refers to the album is driven by both the most dancefloor tech house and the most melodic minimal. It has also a sample vocal letting the track open for all kind of DJs, without leaving for that reason the composite quality aside. Even more melodic is 'Memory,' a cut with all the makings of a hypnotic hit and a remarkable acid flavor moving from the past to the present of dance music with unusual agility, tiptoeing around the most progressive sounds and even around the percussive minimal house that sounds so much lately. It will create a buzz, sure. Finishing up, 'Blowbass' clears the remarkable work of Paul with a track that hides under a false electro house look to become gradually in an efficient winding and surrounding piece of tech house, an ideal fit for quality sound system."

Title: Samba
Label: RESOPAL SCHALLWARE (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: RSP 040EP
"Resopal has a very distinct and specific vision: to give new producers an alternative opportunity for long-term self-expression. On RSP 040 we are very proud to present the brilliant young producer Paul Ritch from lovely Paris. He has no releases out yet and there's nothing big to tell but check out his incredible fresh 12". All four tracks work with little, incredibly morphing, melodic and vocal snippets on top of straight techno drumming and just the right delays and effects. forth and back and back and forth. For all fans of Funkaponydelic, Ricardo etc. This EP is another monster tune of real cinematic qualities. Quality action time from Resopal guaranteed!"

Title: Winter Ceremony
Label: RESOPAL SCHALLWARE (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: RSP 043EP
"With Winter Ceremony he delivers the follow up and again a pretaster for his upcoming work. From reduced techno with a heavy bassline to clicky-glichy minimal, Paul is always a nice example for the heterogeneity of modern music. Three tracks, all dry and dark stompers."

Title: Summer Ceremony EP
Label: RESOPAL SCHALLWARE (GERMANY)
Format: 12"
Price: $11.00
Catalog #: RSP 048EP
"If you are looking for boarder-breaking pieces of real techno beats, Paul Ritch's fresh 12" cuts and the label Resopal will share the same emphasis and the label's 48th release surely will do its job, too. No need to introduce this Paris-based guy anymore. Paul has risen to one of the most demanded young French producers and is a mainstay for energetic, yet effective groovin' techno. Recent releases have been launched on labels like Get Physical and Fumakilla. After his last 12" on the motherlabel which already gained huge support from a bunch of DJs, this here is his third EP on Resopal -- a step forward by this promising talent. Summer Ceremony EP features reduced, dark and energetic techno just right for the peaktime. All in all, real floor-damaging material."

Title: Evil Laff EP
Label: WAGON REPAIR (CANADA)
Format: 12"
Price: $12.00
Catalog #: WAG 047EP
This is Paul Ritch's debut release for the Wagon Repair label. This Parisian's rise in esteem is characterized by his inclusion of warm Latin rhythms into the traditionally cold and calculated techno format. "Evil Laff" effervesces like a lab experiment, with layers of richly sampled percussion looping, stuttering and decompressing as the track picks up steam. Konrad Black's remix plunges into even darker waters. Metallic percussion and a deep ascendant bass melody dictate the pace, culminating in thudded keys and a commanding narrator.
