Ilya Santana originates from the Canary Islands. Fifteen years ago, he started DJing and soon after started producing his own stuff. He has released on labels such as Balihu, Tirk, Permanent Vacation and Gomma, and has remixed artists like Human League, The Phenomenal Handclap Band, and Lindstrøm. 2007 release. A protégé of Daniel Wang, on whose Balihu imprint he released a debut EP in 2005, Spain's Ilya Santana strikes back on Permanent Vacation. "Discotized" has all the ingredients for a space disco anthem: crystal clear sound, great synth lines and a huge arpeggio cue that sounds amazing on dancefloors around the globe. "Holding You" on the flip is a warm, metro-area tune, with beautiful string sounds for the early hours in the club.
