Since the release of his critically acclaimed album Space Between on Simple in 2005, Will has been plying his wares on Systematic and Air and he's just delivered storming remixes of Content on Simple and Chicken Lips. On 'Pause' a rich, analog lead line underpins the whole groove, slowly evolving, flitting between octaves and driving the track forward. At only 122bpm there is real feeling of space, allowing the carefully balanced drums and highly detailed percussive loops to add urgency and detail. Soulful yet haunting chords are worked into the arrangement, intertwining with the lead line to reach a sweaty, euphoric peak. "To accompany the CD release of Simple Sounds, Will Saul presents the first of 3 exclusive and remix 12"s. On this EP is Will's exclusive new track '3000 AD' and Wahoo remixes one of Will's most beautiful tracks from the Simple back catalog. On '3000 AD' lush, inviting pads drift around the stereo pallet before clicks and bleeps introduce the undulating rhythm of the track. As the resonance of the bass line is opened out to a pulsating crescendo, the haunting atmospherics build in intensity. Introspective chords chime around the warped robot voices, creating the soulful yet deeply futuristic sound that characterize Will's productions. For the Wahoo remix of 'Mbira' who better to choose than the head of Will's favorite label (Innervisions) for the remix of one of Will's best known tracks. Will Saul from the UK is the man and owner behind the successful electronica imprint Simple Recordings. His last singles Animal Magic and his Ursula Rucker collaboration Where Is It? are still in the cases of lots of trendsetting jocks. Now Will's musical targets lead to the Systematic family and he has produced two deep, groovy and outstanding trax named "Jen" and "Maximal." "Jen" was already played a couple of times by Pete Tong on his BBC Radio 1 show, and this vinyl release includes an additional Phonique remix.
