Title: It's Okay, I've Overstood
Label: DRECK (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $9.00
Catalog #: DRK 004EP
"The third and most diverse release of the Secondo project on Dreck-Records: on the A-side Secondo pays a visit to Tom Tom Club's 'Wordy Rappinghood'. Carefully sliced into minute fragments and rearranged to bring us the typical Secondo sound: a track reminiscent of your best disco moments, in an entirely new form, a reconstruction of a carefully disassembled song. After numerous hip hop tracks having borrowed the main theme from 'Wordy Rappinghood', this deals thoroughly with the entire sound palette of the original. Very fresh! On the B-side we give up the guessing game and enjoy the sweeter side of Secondo. A friendly ambiguity leaves us in the dark about the origins of the source material. Short fragments of a female voice remind us of the composing technique at work here: an existing popular song is used as source material to arrive at a completely new soundtrack. One for the ladies."

Title: It's Any Late Time
Label: DRECK (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $9.00
Catalog #: DRK 006EP
"Having just released We Got it Like That on Soul Jazz Records, Secondo is back home on his Dreck imprint. Two electro-funk tracks get the classic Secondo treatment: sliced up into minute particles and recombined to a structurally entirely new track. On the a-side Secondo transforms a Jonzun Crew song into an uplifting 4/4 track with a fantastic forward disco drive. 'It's Any Late Time' marks a new step in Secondo's conceptual sampling technique, still not using any additional sounds but referencing the original material to a much lesser degree. The flipside's 'Discombabulate' is mellower but equally aiming forward with its acid bass line. The on and off staccato vocals reveal Shannon's 'Sweet Somebody' from 1984 as the sample source and make this track a characteristic Secondo production."

Title: The Night V4/Frk Dk
Label: DRECK (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $9.00
Catalog #: DRK 009EP
"After a fruitful period of remixes for Felix da Housecat/Harrison Crump, DJ Ali, Milky Globe and Rizzo, Secondo is back with another, long-awaited master-cutting-class double-A sided release on the critically-acclaimed Dreck records imprint, home to Himself, AM/PM and soon more. For those who aren't in the know yet -- the underlying concept to this series of twelve inches denotes the use of only one single song as starting point, the reconstruction of which Secondo developed into his signature splice & funk-style, also known as 'spastic disco,' 'schnitzeltechnik' and 'reconstruction time again' amongst other inventive terminology. Even though the guessing game is less tricky this time round, we shall disclose the names of Roy Ayers and George Benson. Two of their tracks, one from the heights of eighties analogue mastering the other a funk classic, served as starting points for 'The Night V4' on the A-side and 'Frk Dk' on the flip. 'The Night V4' is structured in two main parts, a classic Secondo splice-feast in the first half of the track and a more strict and tight, Secondo-dry-as-breadcrumbs second part, which makes you get up and set the needle back to the beginning again and again. 'Frk Dk' was available for pre-listening on www.dreck-records.com for some while and has had superb feedback as well as countless requests for release. This is going to move the dance-floor from one end to the other, both on the galloping threes and stumbling fours, supreme flip-flop-dance-moves guaranteed. Try holding down play, ffwd and pause on your tape-deck (if still readily available) and you are Secondo-shuffle we recommend buying this nugget before it's gone. Small label. Small run. Rarely repressed! File under Secondo!"

Title: Breathe to the Rhythm
Label: DRECK (UK)
Format: 12"
Price: $9.00
Catalog #: DRK 011EP
"This is it! Reconstruction time again! After a handful of remix-work due to be released in the coming months, Secondo's Radovan Scasascia is back on the 'splice n' funk' with two brand-new start-and-stop groove-bangers. This is tight as ever and develops an incredible flow somewhere amongst all its fragmentation, sure to get some booty! Over the last 2 years Secondo (aka AM/PM) performed versions of 'Breathe to the Rhythm,' the A-side track here, in various live-sets which crazed the crowds and finally becomes available on vinyl with this release. Finest in disintegration-disco! 'I'm Coming Down to You' on the B-side is a gentler track for a bit earlier respectively later in the night but is equally infused with the Secondo signature-soul between all those splices, cuts and crumbs. Yet again, one for the L's. File under Secondo!"

Title: A Matter of Scale
Label: SOUL JAZZ RECORDS (UK)
Format: CD
Price: $18.00
Catalog #: SJR 188CD
"Soul Jazz Records release Secondo's first album of super-funky micro cut-up disco and electronic music. Secondo is Italian/Serbian producer Radovan Scasascia. Born in Zurich in 1975, his super-funky minimal discofied electronic dance music has been appearing sporadically on Soul Jazz Records since 2003 and on his own minimal electronic label, Dreck Records since 2000, where he also releases the music of artists such as AM/PM, Antonelli and Strategy. His most recent appearance was on the Soul Jazz Singles CD alongside Rekid (aka Radio Slave and one half of Quiet Village), Kode9, Subway, DJ Rupture and other similarly like-minded electronic pioneers. Secondo's love of disco and minimal European electronic music produces a unique funky-electronic cut-up style that shows his close links with the micro-house sound of Germany's Kompakt label as much as that of the New York disco labels of the late '70s and early '80s. This led to earlier releases such as his celebrated Tom Tom Club cut-up a few years back. Secondo's music features thousands of micro-samples and on A Matter of Scale, his first album on Soul Jazz Records, the music successfully reflects his aim of reconstructing these minute sonic fragments into new compositions that somehow maintain the atmosphere of the originals as well as creating new worlds. As much at home with his own material as other peoples, his remixes have appeared on a diverse set of European and American electronic artists -- Felix da Housecat, Richie Hawtin, Harrison Crump, James Din A4, Kammerflimmer Kollektief and many more."
