Here is a brilliant 12" from one of Detroit's most respected producers, Anthony "Shake" Shakir. This is the full release of a super-limited white label that dropped in 2008. A tough and ballsy 12", going everywhere from off-key house and electro bullets to steppers/near Photek-ish-dubstep. Ridiculous. This will appeal to fans of his output on his own Frictional label and open-eared people with a love for solid electronic music.

On the back of Shake's retrospective Frictionalism 1994-2009 compilation (RH 110CD), some producers from the new generation who were influenced by Shake remix his music. FaltyDL's remix of "Assimilated" is an up-tempo stepper that both offers a look into the past as well as into the future. Space Dimension Controller transforms the down tempo "Detroit State Of Mind" into a mid-tempo techno-soul affair that will have you grooving all the way through.

Part 3 in the Shake Frictionalism reissue series, with four serious killers. "Assimilated" was featured on his Natural Electronics EP from 2010 and shows that Shake is a pioneer in off-beat techno. "Get A Feeling" is taken from an early Track Mode release and is one for the Detroit house-heads. "For The Lamented" and "Frictionalized" are both taken from his Unsterilized Sessions EP from 2002 and was an early favorite with Ricardo Villalobos, amongst others.

Rush Hour is proud to present a compilation of producer Anthony "Shake" Shakir's best work he released on his Frictional Recordings label (and some on 7th City, too) over the past 15 years, circa 1994-2009. Shakir is an undoubted legend in early Detroit techno, shaping the sounds of artists such as Juan Atkins and Derrick May, and refusing to bow to trend or convention. The label Shake started brought us some of the deepest, funkiest and most diverse techno, though much overlooked in many cases. After a few years' hiatus, Shake is now back and will be recording and releasing on Frictional soon. But first, we look back and/or get the chance to catch up with his catalog. This compilation includes all of the classics such as "Arise," "Frictionalized," "Get A Feeling," "My Computer Is An Optimist," "The Floor Filler," as well as unreleased tracks: "The Other One," "Frenchie" & "Psychotic Tango." All tracks are remastered. This release will come as a deluxe packaged triple CD, which is limited to 1,000 numbered copies.

2011 repress. Part 4 in the Shake Frictionalism (RH 110CD) reissue series, with three total corkers and also an exclusive track. "The Floor Filler" is a disco-frenzied track that was originally released in 1997 as part of Club Scam II. The track is still a valid club tool and will definitely fill a floor. "Plugged In" is taken from the same EP and is true disco meets techno. "The Other One" is a track from the vault and has never been released.
