Title:
My Yellow Wise Rug
Label:
GPR MUSIC GROUP (UK)
Format:
CD
Price:
$17.00
Catalog #:
GPR 008CD
Long lost classic Luke Slater album, originally released by General Production Recordings in 1994, finally reissued by GPR. GPR was the early home of Black Dog and could've been a twin tower to the AI sound of Warp...but things didn't quite work out that way and GPR faded away. Still, pretty amazing that this is getting reissued today. "...veering from futuristic ambience to Detroit-drenched pulsating 4/4 and breaks experimentations, quite possibly Slater's finest album in a long and varied career." -- Boomkat.

Title:
Traktion Action
Label:
NOVAMUTE (UK)
Format:
12"
Price:
$9.00
Catalog #:
NOMU 133EP
"This will be the first in a series of stand-alone 12"s for Novamute whilst Luke works on a further, as yet un-named, album project for parent label Mute. There are three tracks on the 12". Opening with the electrically charged rush of 'Traktion Action', the single has a sound somewhere between full-on techno, Glitter-rock and the Human League. Furiously paced and built around an elastic melody, 'Traktion Action' builds into a frenetic finale -- all screaming synths and fingers in belt buckle boogie. Second track Intensity has a brooding sophistication and unashamedly poppy melody -- like Grace Jones hamming it up at Tresor while final cut EDBD sounds not unlike a finely tuned Dyson-hoover -- all echoey, rising melodies and metronomic beats."
