"Smokey Mims, so goes the legend, decided to become a folk musician after he met Bob Dylan in 1965 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Moving to New York City with his vocalist sister Viki in '66, Smokey and his sibling performed at many of the famed Greenwich Village folk 'basket houses' and were first grabbed up by Columbia Records and later by Warner Bros. where they cut one stellar LP that is now achingly scarce. Forty years later, Sundazed has the great pleasure to release something even more rare and just as beautiful: the Columbia Records album which has languished, unfathomably, in the vaults until now! Here's the hauntingly lovely precursor to their Warner sessions: trippy, harmony-laced and every bit as seductive as what came after. Remastered from the original master tapes, this release, which was originally produced by David Rubinson (Moby Grape, the United States of America), includes the two highly-prized Columbia singles and previously unseen photographs."
