This is the seventh edition in the Rinse label's compilation series. The Rinse series goes from strength to strength with the first and only Spyro mix CD available commercially or otherwise. Spyro is a tour DJ for Tinchy Stryder and was quoted by MOBO (Music Of Black Origin) award-winner Chipmunk as being one of grime's most influential DJs. He has supported Nas, Kano and Jack Penate on tour and was featured on a T-Mobile Transmission as Tinchy Styder's DJ. The CD features contemporary urban anthems alongside classic tracks including Dizzee Rascal's "I Luv U" and Sticky's "Tales From The Hood." Dubbed "Sir Spyro" by artists including Chipmunk, Wiley and Kano in reference to the huge kudos artists gain from Spyro playing their tracks, his DJ show has become essential listening. As a result, Spyro's collection of VIP mixes can only be challenged by the legendary Slimzee. So it's a VIP that kicks off proceedings -- an apt sample of Montell Jordan and away we go. Rinse: 07 immortalizes a Spyro club set for the listener to keep going back to, until their heart's content. Leaving the pigeon-holing to the chin-strokers, Spyro races through grime, garage classics and bass line, mixing with the vigor of a yokel from the Southern states. His ability to keep the dancefloor at boiling point has earned him many well-deserved accolades.
