"After locking himself up in the studio for quite some time, Sweet 'n Candy is back to settle the score. Dirty Gotches are three versatile and ferocious tracks that pack more punch than a swift kick to the you-know-where. All tracks are set in the same atmosphere but show their strength in small tactical ways. He's the thinking-man's thug. The A-side invites the listener to join the Sweet 'n Candy where he whips out a 360 flip off the top rope with a swift elbow to the jugular all while flipping you the bird. On B1 he goes a bit deeper and is digging in a more hypnotic turf. But beware, it still slams harder than Jimmy SuperFly Snooka off the top rope. "Well, just as its mascot is an opossum, our new label, might be still small and quite an outsider in the big clubworld, but just as our furry friend got endurance, dares to be different and is actually quite ferocious and determined to make it into the limelight. The pouch of this first opossum is well stocked with two acoustic delicacies that couldn't be more different: 'Resonance' by Sweet n' Candy fascinates with its gnarly and only superficially monotonous sound aesthetic. The bassline is busy throughout: swinging, bouncing, constantly changing and accompanied by nice sound gimmicks enhancing the experience. On the flip Christian Hoffman aka Blackwell remixes Sweet n' Candy's 'Polyester' which saw a release on Raum Music in its original form. He pretty much sticks to the original melody but gives it a phat minimal electro sound without surrendering to kitsch. Enjoy both pieces with the volume bordering on pain."

"The second single from Berlin based Rico Henschel. His first release was played by DJ's from all kinds of genres and so again he presents four tracks where he doesn't seem to care too much about being suitable to a certain style. Furthermore he is walking on that narrow path between house and techno, blending the styles. Sometimes shuffled, sometimes a bit trancy without becoming too cheesy and sometimes in his typical more minimal orientated manner. You can hear that his tracks are more elaborate and no matter in which genre, he is always capable of giving each single track his own personal note."

"Following the big success of Raum...Musik 050 from Berlin based Rico Henschel aka Sweet N' Candy, we thought it would be nice to do some remixes of the title track of his EP Tackywakeup. On the a-side Dominik Eulberg adds a few synth lines to the original sequence and delivers the perfect soundtrack for some of the bigger dancefloors this summer. The other remix comes from Freude am Tanzen youngster Marek Hemmann of Jena. He puts the focus on little variations of the original groove and comes through with a highly functional mix, which is set for the club as well as for some serious after hour business."

Besides his singles on raum...musik, Rico has also released a number of tracks and remixes on labels like Dumb Unit and Einmaleins. His musical influences can be generally related to minimal house and techno, but he is always keen on picking up on trends and new influences, which is also the reason why he manages to stand out between the uncountable amount of records that are being released in this genre. Rico often seems to be one step ahead of other producers that are making similar music, just see how many 'tackywakeup' imitations came out after the record was first released. This album is aimed primarily for clubs, because that is also his favorite playground. Rico's music can be described as powerful club tracks that can be rather house or techno-related but they always have his own characteristic Sweet N' Candy trademark sound."
