"An active member of the Boston experimental sound community, he is perhaps best known as the 'turntable abuser/modifier' half of the Stelzer/Talbot duo. However, Talbot has a refreshing take on how to 'perform' a turntable: in addition to modifying vinyl recordings, he also modifies the tonearm and needle, with objects as diverse as balloons, sheet metal, and wood, creating a diverse palette of sound. The first 'segment' is reminiscent of cassette spools falling down an elevator shaft coupled with elegant musique concrete; the second half presents whispers of hiss and static fuzz that become a storm of distortion; a loaded 18-wheeler driving through a glass bottle manufacturing plant." 20 minute CD EP.
