"I remember walking into one of my local record shops in Wolverton, MK (I think it was called World Beats) and hearing this record playing. It had just come out and was by a local crew, it totally blew me away hearing that Darth Vader theme music over some raw drums and homegrown vocals. This was a buzz because it was people who lived near me, outside of London, making dope hip-hop and putting it on wax. DJ Halo and Chase 1 formed The Criminal Minds in 1985, and while at college, DJ Halo met Iceski, who would become lead emcee. Upon meeting another DJ called Spatts, they released their first EP entitled Guilty As Charged, funded by Halo selling his decks and the group, plus friends and family chipping in with some cash. Soon after, Safe D and CMD joined the group and they released Tales From The Wasteland, again, independently on their own label. Many tracks were recorded but not released in the following years. Current members include DJ Halo, DJ Spatts, MC Iceski and more.
