"Connect Four is back after a long break, and we're back with a big bang for sure. We give you Toronto's finest man, James Teej and a fantastic remix from Berlin's finest woman, Cassy. James (aka Thomas Mathers) has been producing music for a long time, and been heavily involved in the underground scene of Toronto, Canada. He is also the man behind the newly created Bad Concept Records. 'I'm Human Now' (Cassy Remix) - Cassy has turned the remix into a kind of dub version of the original and that works really good. Super minimal rhythms, bits of the vocal on repeat, and still keeping the good vibe from the original track. Very good remix from Cassy. 'I'm Human Now' - Fantastic deep house vocal track from James. Setting the moody, but still summerish vibe for this record. Spiced up with piano and everything, should make this one a sure classic for those summer nights. 'Purple Runway' - The only instrumental track on the record, but still in the same vibe as the other tracks. Keeps rolling and rolling. 'Super Symmetry' - Last track is also a vocal track. Again James takes it all down for a deep house journey!"

James Teej
releases his solo album on
Radio Slave
's Rekids imprint.
Evening Harvest
is a selection of material that Teej wrote over a 6-month period in the first half of 2009. With an emphasis on deep techno and house, the album is a journey through an array of different musical sounds and moods, with Teej also adding his own soulful vocals to the music. The tracks were written to be deep listening pieces, while also being DJ-friendly.
Evening Harvest
is the culmination of 14 years spent listening to, DJing, writing and producing electronic music, and represents the diversity of sounds he is deeply passionate about. In 1997, he released his first EP on his self-created label Reflection Records, under the name
James T.
From here, he began DJing at afterhour parties, warehouse raves and festivals, everywhere from his hometown to the Rocky Mountains. In 2005, Teej made the move to Canada's main stage, Toronto, where he set up a studio with long-time friend
Nitin
. Remixes for
Trentemøller
,
Tobey Tobias
and
Solee
followed, as did releases on Rebirth, My Favourite Robot and Connect Four Records.
Evening Harvest
also features collaborations with
dOP
and
Richard Hennessey
, and in addition, Teej's own soulful vocals are woven into the deep techno and house of the album.
