Tom Trago is part of the new school of Amsterdam producers. He is also an accomplished DJ and is the "Trago" in Yuro&Trago with Cinnaman (known from their 2007 debut Primary Roots, 2008). Voyage Direct is Tom Trago's long-awaited follow-up to his first EP on Rush Hour, 2006's Live With The BBQ. This 7-track mini-album shows his diversity within the genre of house, reaffirming that house music can still be sexy, deep, raw, emotional and passionate. The package includes the promo-released "Passion," plus a host of new tracks, and two bonus tracks. Highlights could be the piano-led schaffel-meditation of "Lost In The Streets Of NYC," the raw, almost motorik/disco rhythm of "On The Side," or the swing of "Brothers Of String," but in fact, every track is a highlight in its own right. A must-have for any house connoisseur or lover of Detroit-ish touches. After dropping his debut album Voyage Direct (RH 025/LP), Tom Trago drops two favorites from his live set. Side A is an exclusive from his live set that strips the classic "Over & Over" to the minimum before sliding into the original groove only for a moment, only to continue to ride the rhythm again. Side B is an extended disco version of "Use Me," morphing into and out of the original like butter, becoming somewhat more modern. Side B Proper club business.

The second and final Tom Trago Voyage Direct (RH 025CD/LP) remix EP, including four remixes from his homeland of Amsterdam: Aardvarck, Boris Werner, San Proper and Sotu The Traveller. Boris delivers an even deeper mix of "Lost In The Streets Of NY," which has already been played by the likes of Ricardo Villalobos, et al. Aardvarck roughens up "On The Side" while San Proper discofies "Use Me" and Sotu morphs the title track into a dubstep/house hybrid.

This is the third and final Tom Trago Voyage Direct remix EP. Up-and-coming Amsterdam local DJ and beat-maker FS Green comes up with two remixes, giving both tracks a surprising, new feel. While the more downtempo vibe of his remix of "Voyage Direct" wouldn't have been out of place on a Beat Dimensions release, his remix of "Lost In The Streets" goes uptempo and has a cross-over dancefloor potential. Banging! It comes as a limited, green vinyl edition.

After releasing Voyage Direct (RH 025CD) in 2009, Tom Trago has spent the last two years finding his signature sound. The outcome of this search has resulted in Iris. Where Voyage Direct was his homage to disco, Iris deals with all of Tom's musical inspirations. Shaping these inspirations into a new sound and creating an exciting mix is where Tom really succeeds. Iris can be best described as a futuristic soul album. It's an album that takes the listener on a voyage into the future of dance music -- a future where all genres and directions are fused together, from soul to techno, from hip-hop to electro and from classical to disco. Tom has spent countless hours recording for Iris in his studio, on the road and in Los Angeles, where he recorded "So Cold," together with Om'mas Keith of Sa-Ra. Other vocalists featured are Tyree Cooper, Oliver Daysoul, Romanthony and San Proper. The selection of vocalists underlines the diversity of this album.
