Title:
Put You Down
Label:
HESSLE AUDIO (UK)
Format:
12"
Price:
$11.00
Catalog #:
HES 001EP
"The excitement surrounding Bucharest-based TRG has been steadily growing with the likes of Radio One's Mary Anne Hobbs championing 'Put You Down' as one of her dubplates of the week, and DJs Pinch, Distance, Blackdown (Martin Clark) and Jamie Vex'd providing support. Needless to say, we have big hopes for TRG to put Bucharest on the map! Already adept as a DJ, supporting the likes of D-Bridge, Goldie, DJ Vadim and DJ Suv, he has been producing drum and bass and hip-hop since 2002. Here, the Romanian demonstrates his versatility as a producer, delivering two superb dark, grinding 2 step riddims, which rebel against the half-step template that has dominated dubstep for the past year. 'Put You Down' is a proper roller, enhanced by simple keys and a haunting r n'b-sampled vocal. 'Broken Heart' again uses simple key stabs and choruses, delivering a rumbling bassline that begs to be heard loud. Based in Leeds, the label is run by Ramadanman, Ben UFO & Pangaea, three burgeoning talents on the dubstep scene."

Broken Heart (Martyn's DCM Remix)
Label:
HESSLE AUDIO (UK)
Format:
12"
Price:
$12.00
Catalog #:
HES 004EP
"Hessle Audio present two remixes of tracks by Romanian producer TRG. The originals were released on Hessle Audio 001. Martyn made his dubstep debut early last year with a 12" on Marcus Intalex's Revolve:R label. The Eindhoven-born, Washington DC resident producer/DJ has given 'Broken Heart' a complete reworking in his own inimitable style by infusing deep Detroit house vibes with mighty sub-bass pressure -- and to startling effect! This remix has received wide acclaim in the dubstep scene and beyond, with extensive support on BBC Radio 1 and at seminal dubstep events such as FWD and DMZ. On the flip, Ramadanman's long awaited reworking of 'Put You Down' sees the light of day. Retaining the 2-step vibe, the original is stripped down to its bare essentials -- yet the remix manages to create a sense of both space and presence in equal measure."

Time Is Now/They Know
Label:
IMMERSE RECORDS (UK)
Format:
12"
Price:
$11.50
Catalog #:
IME 007EP
"Massive breaking dubstep from the Romanian producer most likely to go the distance." "Maintaining the abundent pressure built up from a slew of releases for Hessle Audio, Subway an Audio freaks, TRG drops into wonky breakbeat rinseout mode for Bristol's Immerse imprint. 'Time is now' is a taut breakbeat rinser, nicely skewed by a flapping bassline and snake charming melody, sure to be causing damage on the floors what want it. 'They know' is a far deeper cut, settling into a skipping breakstep/garage pattern with darkside dystopian tendencies." -- Boomkat.

Generation/Soho Girls (Breakage Remix)

12"
Price:
$12.00
Catalog #:
NL 001EP
"Man of the moment TRG knocks us out again with some refined dark garridge inflections on 'Soho Girls' and 'Generation', but possibly the most excitement is reserved for the remix from highly touted Breakage on 'Generation' -- highly recommended."

Horny/Your Friends Like Techno
Label:
SUBWAY (UK)
Format:
12"
Price:
$11.00
Catalog #:
SUBWAY 001EP
"Finally Holland shows what they're worth on a dubstep level. The Subway crew from Rotterdam (T-Mus, Chillum & Nicon) started the first Dutch dubstep label named after their party! After two legendary parties these guys are ready to bring dubstep on the map in Holland! 1st up it's TRG, a Romanian dubstep powerhouse whose beats can't be denied! The A side holds 'Horny,' a full frontal dancefloor destroyer. People who listen carefully will hear some elements from Photek's 'Age Of Empires.' When the bassline drops there's no stopping it. It just keeps on going and going and going and going 'til the dancefloor is shredded to pieces! The B side shows another club anthem, 'Your Friends Like Techno.' Because everybody has a friend who likes techno! The tune starts out with an eerie vocal then drops in combination with heavy kicks and rippin basslines in the standard halfstep fashion. But after the 2nd break the tune transforms into a 4x4 stormer that will let anybody's friend lose their minds!"

Decisions
Label:
TEMPA (UK)
Format:
12"
Price:
$11.00
Catalog #:
TEMPA 036EP
This 12" features three sumptuous tracks by
TRG
which sidestep booming bass and LFO in favor of lovingly engineered low-end, subtle sweeps and syncopated bleeps and drums. You'll find three ornate progressive techno tunes which keep the ravers moving, and swing that's reminiscent of key tracks which dominated the early, halcyon days of garage sets. These tracks will sit just as well with the dubstep fraternities as it will with those of techno and house. TRG truly blurs the boundaries.

Post Rave Blues Part 1
Label:
TUBE10 (UK)
Format:
10"
Price:
$12.00
Catalog #:
TUBE10 001EP
"Subway presents their latest project Tube10, a limited 10" inch series of deep minimalistic sounds within the dubstep spectrum. Just like with Subway, TRG is going to kick off the label with two awesome tracks in true TRG style. First up it's 'Post Rave Blues.' This tune is so complex it sounds like an interlude for something far more bigger. A mixture between house, IDM, dubstep, rave and the atmospheric drum & bass from back in the days. This tune will take you back -- way, way back! On the flip, we find 'Less Music.' This production could easily be the embodiment of the term 'minimalistic' -- upfront TRG breaks getting combined with gentle strings and the ever-so addicting rebel flow."
