Title: Flashback
Label: MY BEST FRIEND (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $15.50
Catalog #: MBF 001CD
"The long-awaited first CD from My Best Friend is mixed by DJ Triple R aka Riley Reinhold. Reinhold, one of the two driving forces of the label, blends his own releases (productions in collaboration with different artists such as Steve Barnes aka Cosmic Sandwich, Jorge Gebauhr and Emanuel Geller from Salz) with early, rough tracks on MBF and with smooth, cool, deep ones, of which some are still to be released. For instance the deepest track so far by Steve Barnes and Riley Reinhold 'Someday', a West coast inspired deep house track, will be released on a full- length vinyl album later this year. Furthermore 'Daybreak' by Cologne's young indie-rocker Dazo, who jams big fat bass lines and synthies in a new style for MBF will be released in August 2005. The CD also features tracks by the established Berlin duo M.A.N.D.Y., Break 3000 (one half of the Dirt Crew), Dublin's Donal Tierney aka Five Green Circle and Cologne's disco legend of the '80s LAX aka Robert Schulze with a Bobby Orlando-inspired track. The CD includes the hit 'Discotronic' written and produced by Adam Kroll and Break 3000 in the original smooth mix. It also includes 'Mondo Cane,' a New Order-inspired track by Riley Reinhold and Emanuel Geller that was not released on MBF. 'Mondo Cane' adds a unique melodic and emotional side to the CD. The mix CD is constantly rocking to the beat and creating nice waveforms, dynamics, ups and downs. It is always cool and in control of the journey."

Title: Friends Are Silence
Label: MY BEST FRIEND (GERMANY)
Format: 2LP
Price: $16.50
Catalog #: MBF 12021LP
Riley Reinhold, part owner of Traum & Trapez & MBF together with Jacqueline Klein, DJ, A & R head and the driving person behind many projects, has finally released a double 12" with tracks he produced with friends and artists on My Best Friend. Triple R aka Riley Reinhold has already released several EPs together with Steve Barnes aka Cosmic Sandwich. He has also produced with Emanuel Geller as well as Jorge Gebauhr from Argentina under the project name of Toro. This project found a lot of support by house DJs in Germany especially Atta from Playhouse. The five tracks on Friends Are Silence vary in nature and range from the deep house track "Someday," written & produced together with Steve Barnes, to the shuffle house rocker "Six Sick Torros," written and produced together with Jorge Gebauhr. The rhythm monster "Tengo Suerte Esta Noche" was also penned by the duo Gebauhr & Reinhold. The Italo disco flavored "Polyester" title was written in a jam session during a visit to Denis Karimani aka Remute in Cologne. And the dark, Konrad Black-style track "Beauty Needs No Wings" was recorded along with Emanuel Geller, founder of the dub house duo Salz and one of Riley's closest friends. Friends Are Silence comes together in a meeting of minds and beats.

Title: Selection 5
Label: TRAPEZ (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $15.50
Catalog #: TRAPEZ 008CD
The fifth compilation in the Selection series, specially mixed by label A&R and DJ Riley Reinhold (aka Triple R). Selection 5 features a lot more tracks than its predecessors, many of which have not been released on either Trapez or Trapez Ltd so far, but will be in 2007. Reinhold has released dozens of records, played all the best clubs, and hence has acquired all the best skills to mix tracks right. This CD starts with an unreleased track by Riley himself: "Point Zero" is a hypnotic psychedelic track that is mixed into Dominik Eulberg's remix of the rave monster "Fillertet2" by Shane Berry. Rico Puestel is a new German artist who shows promising skills with his Akufen-like structured funk trax. Martin Eyerer and Gui Boratto are next up, putting forward a bassline-driven, percussive minimal monster that works its way into jazzy chords before it returns to a stripped-down groove. Ananda's remix of Marek Bois is a groovy journey through different levels of dynamics, while Poland's superstar SLG takes a cool Mediterranean groove and a nice bass line that makes his track roll. Luke Le Mans has produced one of the rare acid tracks on Trapez, keeping it cool, controlled and nice in the build-up. 3 Channels contribute a rhythmic and deep Chicago-flavored rhythm track which flows nicely into Jeff Samuel's last Trapez drop. Sandiego presents his own version of Spanish funk-induced techno, Florian Meindl and Alex Under provide pure German youth techno and Audio Werner remixes Swat-Squad's top track. Mark Henning ropes some straight minimal techno, while newcomer Andrea Ferlin likes his minimal more hazy. Nôze and UND are mixed together into one before we are pulled back into minimal techno by Renato Figoli. Toro's minimal Latin groover is by Jorge Gebauhr and Reinhold himself, meeting the final track of the CD, a remix of "Supersnack" by Trapez core artist Oliver Hacke. The future looks bright for Trapez.

Title: Selection 6
Label: TRAPEZ (GERMANY)
Format: CD
Price: $15.50
Catalog #: TRAPEZ 009CD
This is the sixth compilation in Trapez's Selection series, specially mixed by label co-owner and A&R of Traum, Trapez, MBF and MBF LTD, Triple R aka Riley Reinhold. Triple R sums up what has happened in 2007 and gives a preview of unreleased tracks to come in 2008. The 64-minute mix ironically casts off with a track by Riley himself which he has edited so that it functions as the intro for the CD. It mixes into Bülent Gürler's "Koala," a great bassy track that was featured on Loco Dice's Beatport Top 3 charts and was supported by Michael Mayer -- super cool and spooky. SLG's new groover "Earthworm" breaks into Bülent's track, and is a really cool Chicago funk track in the spirit of Daniel Bell's DBX ones. Reggy Van Oers' mover "Cytric" follows, mixing Carl Craig stings with minimal techno -- a real exception in the world of minimal today. It runs into the trancy track "Endless Ride," produced by the wonderful duo Salvatore Freda & Massimo Steffanelli. Red Robin & Jakob Hilden present "Snapdragon," a bold and super bassy monumental techno production that gets everybody moving on the dancefloor. The label's first Greek artist Mihalis Safras is a madman in the studio -- from his productions with Mark Broom to his incredible work on the Minimise label, he pumps out two dazzling and never before released tracks. The "Disco Bus" track by Aquilina & Venturi features a groundbreaking rhythm and has all kinds of special DJs like Jeff Samuel going wild. Alex Under returns to set new standards with electro-experimentation and, to close things off, Mauler aka Fabrice Lig, twists his Roland 101 bass line into heaven. Also featuring 3 Channels, Massi DL, Alexi Delano & Xpansul, Roland Dill and Florian Meindl.
