"Time To Express. This is the 6 am feeling of a jackin', bass-heavy warehouse marathon. Strobes flash, your chest is rattling, salty sweat burns your eyes and you yearn for more. The Trusted EP marks the first release on new label Time To Express, founded by Brussels-based producer and DJ Peter Van Hoesen. Peter has previously released on Lan Muzic and Foton and is known to cultivate a healthy obsession for deep, dark, bass-driven techno. Peter's Trusted EP presents intense warehouse grooves fused with a solid 6 am attitude. Both tracks exhume a gritty, dubby feeling combined with a dark dose of funk. 'New Territory's' hypnotic groove slowly builds up towards a pounding bass intervention. 'Trusted' moves steadily forward, propelled by a grinding bass and a spacious, dubbed-out approach. On remix duty we find Norman Nodge, one of Berghain's stalwarts. Norman has an excellent MDR release to his name and his track 'Native Rhythm Electric' is included on Ostgut Ton's new Berghain 02 compilation. His remix of 'Trusted' takes us into deep techno territory, combining a solid backbone with an abstracted touch of highly addictive dub sounds and a wide-open production. This is a bigger-than-life track, calling out to you for playback on a bigger-than-life sound system."

"The Brussels bass ambassador is back with a fresh release on Time To Express. This time Peter Van Hoesen is supported by Finnish techno don, Samuli Kemppi. Both artists have produced the perfect follow-up to the Trusted EP released earlier this year on Time To Express. Label owner Peter Van Hoesen's love for dark, driving techno is evident from the two original tracks on the EP. 'Liss01' kicks off this release with a spacious, cavernous sound. Skittering hi-hats, filtered stabs and a brooding bass line propel the track into a deep and dub-influenced shuffle. 'Casual Care' is slightly more varied in its arrangement, allowing for the introduction of a mesmerizing melody halfway through the track. A deep, tight kick drum leads the way, assisted by a punctuating bass line and subtle, shifting effects. Turn off the lights please, this one's for those who like it uncut. Samuli Kemppi, known and respected from previous releases on Ostgut Ton and Pakkas Levyt manages to take things even deeper, squeezing out the last drop of bass pressure in his remix of 'Casual Care.' The original melody remains present in expertly abstracted form, driven along by a double dose of sub-bass. The result is six intense minutes of dark, hypnotic techno pressure."

"Once again the Brussels' producer delivers the goods with two dirty, funked up prime techno cuts. Hot on the heels of the Casual Care EP this new two-tracker presents another example of Van Hoesen's highly personal approach to techno music. 'Empire In Decline' is fueled by relentlessly repetitive metallic percussion, providing the main rhythmic and melodic parts of the track. Strands of white noise try to escape the kick drum's pressure, expertly assisted by a pair of shuffling hi-hats. The precise shuffle of 'Empire In Decline' provides ample room for the funk to come out and wrap itself around your waist. Dark, dirty and destined for loud playback. 'Third Piece' develops a slightly different approach, presenting a gritty percussive approach that's at once menacing and inviting. It doesn't waste any time to get down to business, starting off with a full-on groove that builds and builds and builds. Halfway through the track there's a hint of a melody creeping in, sustained by a rolling bassline that pushed things ever forward. At all times a gritty percussive presence tends to break out of its cage, providing 'Third Piece' with a dose of highly-charged techno-funk tension.
