Originally released in 1981. Musicians: Shigetoku Kamiya, Shuichi Chino, Mishio Ogawa, Akira Sakata, Shuichi 'Ponta' Murakami (drums), Takafumi Fuse (computer sound performance), Kiyohiko Semba (percussions). First CD reissues of 2 (out of 3 overall) albums by this pioneering Japanese fusion/dub group, Wha-Ha-Ha, from the early 80s. ReR issued a compilation in 1982 that is largely responsible for generating world-awareness of this group, who were difficult to pin down in their post-RIO experimental output.
Shinutokiwa Betsu
is their first album from 1981, originally issued by Columbia Japan. ReR's description as follows: "The master Japanese group whose music never appeared in the occident. This group were a revelation: daring dub mixes, sudden changes, humour, virtuosic playing; extreme; very musical and pretty eccentric. Not to be missed."
