"After a return from Hurricane Katrina's exodus, nine folks took their knowledge, or lack thereof, of instruments and put together Why Are We Building Such A Big Ship?. With an accordion and upright bass supporting the musical backbone, a six-piece horn section appears and drops out, playing layered melodies with minimalist percussion as glue. Beautiful, as well as scrappy, six songs measuring in at 37 minutes, wonderfully recorded by Don Godwin in November of 2007. We are happy to put this record out into the world. This pressing of 800 comes in hand silk-screened covers with an insert."
