Just as different types of fish can be found in different waters, so, too, do the acoustic tales of The Micronaut take place in different regions of the emotional landscape: sometimes warm, sometimes fresh -- sometimes calm and stagnant, sometimes lively and floating. And just as all fish are connected by the water surrounding them, also this album has its connecting element: a very individual and independent groove. This groove comes with a lot of surprises. For instance, when a guitar chord from the acoustic band atmosphere of "Gründling" suddenly gets tangled up in a loop and introduces an unexpected but coherent change into the direction of broken, electronic beats. "Slowly but constantly, days are getting longer again and clothes become shorter and shorter. Green is sprouting on the acres around and Acker Records delivers the perfect soundtrack for the euphoric hormone cocktail of the first warm days in spring: 'Endlich Fruhling' means nothing else but 'finally spring' and that is exactly what it's all about: The A1 song comes with plenty of cosy but pushing boost in its lower sections; above that some driving percussion and dreamy, playful melodies unfold. Subtle string entries underline the very positive flow of this track. On the flipside, Rundfunk 3000 take up the idea of the original and add a proper pinch of melodica sounds. The result presents much more song character and is perfectly appropriate for late afternoon dance floors as well as a stimulating breakfast on the balcony. Finally, the track 'Rabulka' features a pretty different style: Very driving bass sounds, various rhythmic elements and dubby melodies evolve an astonishing deepness. This is for the spring time!"

"Well, this is gonna be frisky: Go-getting musical globetrotter Eulenhaupt meets Mollenhauer, the cheerful dude from Mecklenburg with his special passion for groove. The result of this encounter clearly bears the hallmarks of the two of them and therefore is similar varied and entertaining like the gentlemen themselves. A rich bass makes the head nodding right from the beginning of 'Candyshock,' driving offbeat chords reinforce this effect even more. The percussive composition signals a massive departure even before the break, the track finally takes off completely with some playful-euphoric wind instruments. 'Candydrop' starts in a similar mood but this one leads into dubby depths with harmonic keyboard orchestration afterwards. On the B-side, 'Candyshock' is re-interpreted by Mollenhauerís Alter Ego Mollono.Bass. He again adds a mighty portion thrust, dubby sounds and a dreamy oriental vocal hover between the quotations from the original. Last but not least, Eulenhaupt and Mollenhauer redesigned the 'Candyshop' and deliver a song-styled composition with friendly accordion sounds and a superb smoky female vocal. Music from Acker for the acre or the cosy freak-out in the club of trust!"

"Again that laid-back, humorous and open-minded character of the people of Mecklenburg glistens from the grooves of the available Acker record. This time it is represented by the gentlemen Schäufler, who is an essential part of the local producer and DJ scene since many years, and Zovsky, who was musically socialized in trancy sceneries and shows a remarkable versatility. 'Set Di Dol' comes around on a powerful, pushing bass line, precisely placed percussions, minimal melody fragments and an exotic vocal sample make this track distinctly stimulating. After that the two dudes pick up the relaxed and cozy atmosphere of 'Every Day,' which originally hails from the easy listening genre, and garnish it with reduced but very effective rhythms. On the flipside, the radio version puts this remix even more in a nutshell and finally Acker mister Mollono.Bass presents his version of 'Set Di Dol' on the flipside: Based on his typical, bouncing groove, he creates a frisky and somehow tropical atmosphere, using refreshing xylophone sounds and a proper portion of tribalistic percussions."

"Acker Records welcomes three visitors from the beautiful Hanseatic city of Hamburg: Being a passionate and innovative disc jockey for many years, the club culture of the North German metropolis can not be imagined without mister Marcus Carp. With the two gentlemen Deo & Z-Man, he is accompanied not only by two equally esteemed colleagues, but also a double portion of Mediterranean temperament and love of life. Referring to a reduced but highly effective rhythm repertoire, 'Overtighten Nut' develops a bold and dirty charm. During the break, a twang double bass joins its pretty thick electronic fellow and makes the frisky bounce complete. For his interpretation, Mollono.Bass stacks up sound layer after sound layer very sensitively and subtle and so stirs up quite some expectations for a massive take-off after the short break. Those are fulfilled in every respect. Finally Rundfunk3000 rounds up the available Acker release with a rather song-orientated approach, featuring a rolling groove and playful instrumental entries."

"Matching the cold season in northern Europe, Acker Records extends its collection with a beautiful, just as functional ear warmer. Designed by the gents Carsten Rausch and Ferdinand Laurin from the city of Trier, this acoustic accessory convinces in even four aspects. On the one side, the warm sounds of 'Shout' can be found, a really inspiring track that develops certain trancy qualities with its melodic character and some pretty trippy delay experiments. After that, the pleasant boost is taken up by 'Quattrow,' here the outrageous groove of the lower frequency spectrum is raised to the stakes by a casual and housey motive. This track is redesigned by the dudes of Rundfunk3000 on the other side; they serve it on crunchy and highly energetic rhythms and spice it up with their typical, playful instrumental entries. Finally, 'The Tribe' is also pretty much straight forward and again scores with warm feel-good sound that dives into intoxicating depths."

"There is something distinctly jolly, sometimes even tipsy going on within the grooves of the recent Acker record. For their remixes of Nouvelle Chance, the gents Eule:nhaupt and Molle:nhauer skilfully mixed up very different musical ideas and forcing rhythms with their typical humorous wink. Already the first bars of version 1 reveal that this track has quite some song character: Founding on bulbous bass sounds, perky guitar chords and the cheerful but unobtrusive voice of the female French singer find their way to the ear, and also the driving and rolling percussions create a hand-made impression. The final take-off of this title happens some time later, when a bouncy piano sets the listener into the mood of a frisky saloon party in its Wild West manner. Also version 2 distinguishes itself by a song-oriented character but refers to another instrumentation and appears slightly more slim all together. On the flipside, the remix of Mollono.Bass relinquishes the vocal part and concentrates on a reduced and functional groove that directly aims the dance floor and delivers that certain variation that is typical for Acker releases. Finally the original version from the Berlin based duo Pupkulies & Rebecca gives the available record a laid-back finish."

"Almost one year after their musical hiking day, their 'Wandertag' to the winter state of Mecklenburg, the two Berlin gents Dreher & Smart return to Acker. Once again they tinkle the ivories of their very own keyboard of unmistakable groove and start playing some considerable hypnotic chords this time. A bubbling bass brew and discreet but pretty twisted rhythm constructions form the basis of 'Flick Flack.' The mysterious wind player samples and sound effects, that hover apparently weightless above those, lend a dramatic- cinematic expression to the track. 'Hirnholz,' meaning something like brain-wood, keeps what its name implies with a distinct forcing thrust in its lower frequency spectrum, that evolves quite some mass appeal together with crunching and clicking background noises. Finally the 'Spiegelkabinett,' the hall of mirrors, is haunted by pregnant with meaning voice recordings which complete with the dreamy, melodic character and the organic bass line of this track."

"To sound the bell for the slowly but constantly sprouting spring also in a musical respect, the crew from Acker called for support from the Mediterranean sceneries of Italy: The two operators of the Lula Circus have already pricked up the ears of lovers of flamboyant tech house tunes with their recent releases on Resopal. Matching the season, they are now back to send up the temperatures on dance floors again. 'Waiting For The Sun' to come impatiently, this tracks frisks along on a bouncy bass and prompts dreamy spring fever with breezy- warm panpipes sounds. After that, 'Tears And Ice' makes quite clear where it goes to already during the first bars: Straight ahead! Beyond whipping hi hats and cutting snare impacts, slowly but constantly a piano loop clears its path to the surface. Later on the smoky and outrageously casual rap of a lady adds on and prepares a really explosive departure. The panpipes from the A-side make a perfect meal for Mr. Mollono.bass and so the euphony, in which he launches himself into a remix on the other side of this vinyl, can clearly be heard. Beside his typical, extensive percussion repertoire also his hypnotic style is unmistakable. Finally the 'Lipstick Gang' comes around in a crunchy and reduced manner, this time it's the rhythmically emphasized voice of a male lending this track a distinct easiness."

"Slim, sporty and very casual- that's the way in which current number 18 on Acker Records sneaks into listener's ears and hereby wonderfully illustrates the much longed for beginning of the open air season in Europe. Other than the name Justin Side implies, it's even two dudes from Denmark who conjure up this unusual 'Voodoo.' Bedded on a gently shaking groove and larded with tropical warm percussion and lots of vocals, the magic takes effect immediately but still unobtrusively. Beside the original mix, the groove of the A-side includes a minimal Club Mix by mister Mollono.Bass that creates rather nightly associations in its straightforward manner. On the flipside he pulls out some other stops of his sound repertoire and calls the sunbathed result very appropriately his 'Summer Mix.' Last but not least the unmistakable, humorous organ sounds of Rundfunk3000 represent the unique, local 'Mecklenburg' version of a mighty 'Voodoo' magic."
