They later renamed themselves Bermuda Triangle (their 1977 album recently reissued). This $900+ rated album is the rarest of the lot and is a top notch collection of psych-folk gems. A superb artifact from the early '70s US underground psych folk scene. Taken from the original master tapes, and using the original sleeve artwork, this is a strict limited edition of 450 copies pressed on virgin DMM vinyl.'

SYN, THE

Original Syn
Label:
ACME (UK)
Format:
LP
Price:
$23.00
Catalog #:
AD 1042LP
Subtitled:
Complete History Of The Syn 1962-69
. "Complete recordings (45s, acetate demos and other previously unreleased recordings) circa 1967-1969 by UK freakbeat/psych legends The Syn. Featuring Chris Squire, who would later go on to form progressive rock legends Yes.
'From the band's own archives comes this collection of all the 45s, plus demos and outtakes from this legendary UK psych band's short career. Housed in a superb colour gatefold sleeve, and comes packed full of rare, previously unseen photographs. The cover art utilizes one of the Syn's rarest releases, as it is taken from an EP released only in France! If you're reading this, I suppose that two of the most authentic psychedelic freakbeat tracks ever recorded, 'Grounded' and '14 Hour Technicolour Dream', need no introduction here, as well as the Who-ish 'Created By Clive' and 'Flowerman'. Pretty much essential 1960s UK psychedelia. A limited edition (DMM) direct metal mastering pressing on only 1000 copies.'

Format:
CD
Price:
$18.00
Catalog #:
AD 1044CD
First readily available reissues of these Spriguns' albums from the mid-70s, offiically licensed from Decca UK. Classic British folk rock output, for fans of Steeleye Span/Maddy Prior, Sandy Denny, Annie Briggs, etc. "Originally issued on Decca 1977. Only available on CD in Japan prior to this release." "It's a pity that
Time Will Pass
marked the end of Sprigun's major label days -- punk and new wave were culling all but the most profitable folk and prog bands from most label rosters by this time -- for it stands up against the other Brit-Folk of its time from far better known bands including Steeleye, Fairport, Pentangle, Strawbs and the rest." -- Jaeger.

"For the first time ever, here's a vinyl reissue of the mega-rare and legendary UK acid-folk private pressing from 1969. At the time, only a handful of copies were pressed, and so, as an original, this is a £1500-plus top of the league rarity! This official reissue has come from the original masters and directly transferred by Peter Howell himself from the original machine that recorded the album and comes with an exact reproduction of the original album sleeve for the very first time since 1969! A strictly limited edition of 500 copies only on deluxe DMM vinyl, shrinkwrapped and stickered."

PYR 015LP
LP version. "Epic early to mid-1970s instrumental psychedelic space-rock from the Pyramid Records archive, said to be pseudonymous after-hours studio sessions featuring the biggest names on the Krautrock scene at the time; heavy drums, jamming guitars and Hammond organ: in short, an amazing improvised free-form trip of impressive magnitude, on par with the music of Krautrock heavyweights like Neu! and Gila. An adventurous atmosphere throughout, whether the result is hallucinogenic and jazzy ('Jupiter'), the heavy freak and roll of 'The Returning,' with crushing guitars and massive, repetitive, almost funky rhythm, or the Jimi Hendrix-inspired 'Godhead Dance.'"

SKL 5028LP
"One of the rarest '60s UK psych pop albums. The band had a handful of 45s on Decca between 1967-68 and this album was set for release in 1969, but the LP was pulled at the last minute. Only a handful of finished copies with covers survived and now command a hefty £1500+ price tag. Taken from the analogue masters, this is a superb sounding album. Not only this, the original painting used for the LP artwork has also recently come to light, and we are lucky enough to reproduce this. This is a superb collection of '60s UK sike pop with a mix of American sunshine pop. Finally after 40 years the album is seeing the light of day for the first time! This is a strict limited edition of 450 copies only, DMM mastered and pressed on 180 gram virgin vinyl."

Catalog #:
SKL 5050LP
40th anniversary edition with insert; on white vinyl. "The rise of power trio T2 in 1970 was rapid: important open-air festivals; headlining residencies at the Marquee Club; appearances at virtually every major venue in London. Then their debut album was released; they seemed poised for a breakthrough. As the band recalled, they were playing the Marquee club with John Lennon and Jimi Hendrix hanging out backstage, which was all to the good. But people were coming forward saying, 'we can't find your album anywhere.' In short order, the band fell apart. Still, their sole Decca album has become well established as an all-time classic amongst progressive and psychedelic music collectors -- even the techno and DJ crowds. The fact that it has done so without hype is a testament to the innate quality of the music. The album is packed with melodic acoustic passages and frenzied fuzz guitar workouts, not to mention acid-trip induced lyrical and musical content."

SNP 097LP
"For the first time ever, here's an official reissue of Peter Howell/John Ferdinando's soundtrack of the film
Tomorrow Come Someday
from 1970. Like
Alice
, only a handful of copies were made back then, and this is now a £1000-plus mega bucks item. From the musicians who made the legendary
Agincourt
and
Ithaca
albums, here is the second album that this duo made. The short film was given a limited release at the time, and the folk flavor throughout the soundtrack feature male and female vocals. This superb reissue has come from the original master tapes, directly transferred by Peter Howell himself from the original machine that recorded the album! A strictly limited edition of 500 copies only on deluxe DMM vinyl, shrinkwrapped and stickered."
