"Barbarella is proud to announce these new mixes of 'Star' by Rob Acid. The track is taken from Rob's Star EP on Censored Records and now it appears on the hot new Barbarella label. The new remixes come from two of the top producers of the UK underground scene who both deliver very different interpretations of Rob's original track. On the info sides is Scott Edwards aka Avus, in the past he has recorded for Border Community. Klang Elektronik and Perc Trax. His mix is a classic slice of modern minimalism, dubbing out the track with his trademark glitchy effects. "Alistair Wells aka Perc takes a break from his successful Perc Trax label to serve up a 3-track EP on Barbarella Music, following his remix of Rob Acid's 'Stars.' Recent Perc releases such as Splashy and the Razor EP have been supported by Michael Mayer, James Holden, Slam, Ozgur Can, Nathan Fake, Jesse Somfay, Marc Ashken and Avus. The opening track 'Strangeways' is one of Perc's finest productions to date with a slow, shuffling electronic groove underpinned by a huge bass line. This leads to a jaw-dropping breakdown built around a floor-destroying bass attack. On the B-side 'Yeah' fuses together minimal techno with the London fidget house sound to create something unique. Again, a heavy bassline plays a large part in this track, as does an unforgettable vocal drop."
